Make sure you are sitting down if you call Clausing. I bought a toothed belt for my 1865( I think). I have my receipt at home. I will check and see if it has the length. I could try to measure it. I think the belt was the better part of 65 bucks

Edit. -mine is a 1688 model

Edit - scroll through this practical machinist post. I think it give some math formulas for calculating your belt.

(Large diameter *3.14/2)+ (small diameter *3.14 /2)+(center to center distance * 2)
Then subtract
For A belt 2"
For B belt 3"
For C belt 4"
Thats your length.
A belt is 1/2 Across the top
B belt is 21/32
C belt is 7/8
Add X after letter for ribbed belt (AX)
Part number Example = AX36

Heres a good easy guide using a different method. Dosent mention the subtract 2 or 3 or 4. Ill double check at work tomorrow on an actual belt system here

When your measuring a belt with a string you measure the OD and subtract the numbers above for actual part number. When your measuring with pulley diameters id assume its the same. (Subtract 2/3/4 etc.)

Checked on an air make up at work.
21 inch center to center.
6inch pulley and 11inch pulley.
Uses a B belt.
Length from formula was 68.69. Say 69inches.
Belt thats on it is a BX66. So yes subtract those numbers above.

No need to subtract. I think the problem is you think a BX66 belt is 66" long, it's not, actually measures 69". https://www.grainger.com/product/6L...71951&ef_id=WR2W6AAABFwbM7Ay:20170529221051:s

Yes, but the OP is trying to find belt size from just pulleys.(i think? Anyhow he dosent have old belt) So from the formula, you need to subtract the above numbers for belt types from pulley sizes+center to center. To get your belt part number.
And the 69 will be OD of belt, i think the 66 is from the pitch diameter length. Depends how/where you measure.
