Ordered new front cross. Waited 3 months and came
Looking like this.







Had a 1/4" rock side to side & a control arm would not fit on
Lower. Neither upper arm would fit without mods.

Manufacturer now promising to replace it.

App does not allow that. App will also only allow to attach 1 pic at a time. Might be a setting thing. I also have 132 different Albums with as many as 53 folders on those albums not to mention multiple files in each folder . .

I think it may depend on the phone you use, on my Galaxy S7 I can select as many pics as I like, click share then a selection screen pops up, which includes the PB app. I click the app icon then select which album I want the pics to go to, then it uploads them all at once. I use Verizon mobile broadband for everything. I live in the country, cell based internet or satellite internet are our only choices for somewhat fast internet.



Sidenote glad to see your getting out and enjoying Eco1. I just bought a new '17 F150 with the gen 2 ecoboost and 10 speed. Very impressed so far.

Have figured out how to upload to proper album but can only attach one pic at a time from phone. Might be possible but have not figured out to do more than one at a time from phone. Desktop not a problem.

Love those '17 10spd Eco's! Have a good friend who is trading in his 2014 5.0 for one on monday. He has a cylinder going dead with just 64k miles and out of warranty. Top of the line 65k $$ truck and only made it a couple years on engine.

Before & After actually a original that I re-polished using Dremel and felt/compound. Bit of work but looks better than the NOS ones. Unrestored one is a match off same truck. (eco1)

Seems like always a continuous deal with how to solve the next puzzle. This one is for:

Eco2

Finding a proper tire wheel combo took a lot of thinkin' Not much brain left to hurt but its hurtin'

There were about zilch for a tire wheel combo that I liked and was within price reason for Eco2. I also did not want to do any mods I could not easily reverse.

A while back I found a brand new take-off set of wheels from a 2017 F250 for 740.00 I then sold the tires that came with them for 540.00 (learned later the tires were over 300.00 each) Still having 200 bucks in Four brand new wheels, caps and lug nuts was a pretty good deal. Problem was the bolt pattern on '65-1997 F250's was the 8 x 6.5" bolt circle. (165.1 mm) The new truck was 170 mm.

So I found a set of wheel adaptors (set of 4) with mounting hardware and studs. These are in 1 1/2" thick versions.

They worked great on rear except for the 2017 wheels are Hubcentric which is they have a serrated washer/lug nut that holds them on and the center hole in wheel centers it to hub.

Of course I had forgotten that the rears would fit perfect (after a bunch of careful measuring) But because I had switched to Discs in front it was now 1 1/2" wider on each side and the tires did not tuck in properly.

So I figured how about just re-drilling the rotors . . But that would make it near impossible to simply switch over to the older wheel/tire combo if need be. (thinking lower 48 state trip)

So, I purchased a 2nd set of rotors, bearings and seals then had the new pair of rotors re-drilled for the new bolt pattern of 170. (not quite as easy as it sounds but friends in high places)

Here is the end result on new re-drilled front rotors. Of course I also had a issue with what thread on the 14 mm studs. Eco1 is 14 x 1.5 and the new F250 and '15 & up F150's have a 14 x 2.0 thread. More guess work but ordered a bunch of new studs for the 2017 F250 and they worked perfect on the 50yr old rotors! (Lucky66)

So now not only do I have the proper offset with the '17 F250 wheels but by simply changing front rotors that I already have I can switch back easily to the early wheels.

I ended up going to try the same tire on Eco2 as I have on Eco1 a 255/55r18. Needing a bit more "traction" I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric tires. Now mounted on the '17 wheels.

Best part is I can use the stock '17 hubcaps to keep it all FoMoCO.

How I solved the Hubcentric issue was to buy a 60 deg Countersink for Ford to spot the wheels. I will use 4 taper type lugs to center wheel then 4 serrated washer type to help with clamping force and also hold the hub caps on? Cear as Mud?

very little weight needed on the tire wheel combo.

The new caps will clear the custom 4340 chromemoly axles

Not much of an update but a update: This stuff takes soooooo long to do. Such a simple task but so much time used up in trying to get it done. Now I gotta see if it all bolts up!

You can get hubcentric rings made to adapt the new wheels to the old rotors. Much easier than machining your nice new wheels.

That may have been ok on the front but would not have worked on rear because of hub is not machined there. The wheels already had a .070 wide 60 deg cut so they were just widened to .140. It did not effect the wheel in any way. (see pic with one missing lug nut) Also if I put the hub centric rings on the rear they would have to be removed to fit the stock wheels. Many ways to do it I guess but just did what "clicked" at the time. Thanks for posting the link. I bookmarked it in case its ever needed.

Eco1 did make the trek to F100 Western Nationals

It ran flawlessly.

After numerous larger shows it has become very clear
People are simply not interested in unfinished projects.

Majority of people at the larger shows barely glance at it.
Always some who like it and realize it's a work in progress.

But, most see bare metal obvious a ton of finish work needed and keep on walking.

10 days or so ago tripped over another nice 1966 Ranger. This one a F100. In

For the ones who only care about a finished vehicle, shame on them, they most likely have no idea how much work it takes to make this happen. Your trucks, talent, desire to push forward make it all worthwhile. This thread is one of my go to threads, such inspiration from you and a lot of others on here. Thanks for all you to do pass along techniques and information so the rest of us can get better. That is the reason I came here!!!

I should build a flux capacitor to fill up the entire bed space . . The few days in California surely started the rust process. Lots of brown . . Starting to look like a UPS truck.

YouTube Video of carb cleaner boiling in the Arizona Sun! 117 deg out at my place and because of stench keep the carb cleaner outside. I moved it in shade to drop in a Autolite 2v carb for the Rainbow Ranger and when I opened lid it started to boil very heavily. I was so fascinated by how hard it was boiling I sat and watched it for a few minutes before thinking it would be worth a short video.

Even after dropping in the carb & basket it continued for a good 15 seconds before it calmed down.

High of 123 deg this week about 5 miles from my place. Highest ever recorded (have kept track of high and low temps since we moved in on a calibrated temp sensor) was the 117 deg. Have touched 115 a few times this week too. Today its a "Balmy" predicted 108 deg for high temp. Did have a few nights where low temp never dropped under 90 deg.

My middle daughter will be coming home from the 1 yr stay in Finland soon and we promised her our extra car. Since monsoon's will be arriving by then I needed something to use as a daily driver on those rainy stormy days. I tripped over this 1966 F100 Ranger.

I do not think anyone knows the total number of Rangers built in 65-66 but total amount in the Ranger Registry including this one is only 49 Trucks.

That includes both F100 & F250's. In 1966 There are only 3 F250's in the Registry including Eco2. A pretty hard vehicle to replace that is very straight body and ZERO Rust anywhere. Will be afraid to drive it when done . . LOL (Thats because I will be around 90 yrs old by then if I keep working at same pace)

So bored with NOTHING to do . . . (ok, lots to do but little energy)

I was notified by Kaase Racing late last week some parts were finally avail to ship after a 6 month wait. First batch left by truck freight This Monday.

Yesterday this pulls up to shop.

Kaase Racing posted a pic on facebook of large shipments going out, I said, hey that blue pallet has my name on it!

Sure enough the blue pallet showed here . .

Always hear the saying: "Diamonds are a Woman's Best Friend" Diamonds are forever etc.

This is the Diamond for "guys" and gals if they so chose. LOL

Hard coated pistons for high Turbo Boost applications. Good for the 3000-3500 HP range. This is what you call some real "SLUGS".

For safety purposes the cam gear is drilled for 2 dowels with proper retaining plate and larger bolt.

Carrillo Rods will help keep pieces from exiting block.

1.75 Ratio Boss Rockers should help keep me off my ROCKER!

A custom 10.300 deck Aluminum Block will contain all this fine jewelry.

A 4.25" Stroke Billet Crank from Bryant will help assure things stay together . .

Coming in at 90 lbs this fine piece will help hold it all together!

A custom fabricated pan by Stef's will hold the lubrication needed. Note the Oil Return fittings in pan. They can only be for one thing! Yep, Return oil from the Turbo's.

Ultra Pro Hydraulic lifters from Crane along with Custom pushrods from Trend and a super secret turbo camshaft will finish up the valve train.

The multi hard coated Turbo Pistons are a work of Art and about the prettiest Diamond I have seen. Man's best friend (if you do not have a dog) HA

Talk about a beefy SKIRT! no flimsy too short skirts here!
