Lubrication for Snap on drawer sliders

I'm restoring my old 1985 Snap On roller and top boxes. I'm going to clean the drawer sliders in my parts washer and I just want to know what's the best stuff to use to keep everything working nicely once put back together. I made the mistake of using regular grease on these sliders like 10 years ago and every winter I battle with my drawers to open and close them (dont have a heated garage).

Any suggestions??

i use crc/lube spray on my slides or use some thin oil. make sure after u apply it to wipe out any puddles or drips so they dont drop off inside your toolbox when theyre closed

I'm leaning towards the synthetic grease, because I agree the grease creates a layer between the metal surfaces and would promote the least resistance. I just dont want the drawers to bind up on me again in the cold months. Thanks for the feeback so far guys...

I wouldn't use grease, you need something thin and you shouldn't have any trouble.

I just tried the Wurth HSS silocone spray on my SO friction slides. Just started using it for other things like hinges, so we'll see how it goes.

The box, including the drawers was repainted (over worn off powedercoating it appears), and I"ve taken the paint off the inside tracks (on the drawers and box frame), because I think some of it was impeding the drawers from sliding smoothly. I'm not sure that it makes a difference, but I'm trying it anyway.

I also use HHS 2000, on my KRL boxes, it works excelent.....but im bysed lol

I may be a little late to the party but I just purchased an old rolling cart/top set so I called Snap-on to see what they recommend. Friction slides should only get a light coat of paraffin wax.
