I need help identifying this craftsman box. I have been looking for a second set forever and have had no luck. I believe it is a craftsman professional series from the 90s. It is black with gold handles.

I see 3 boxes on a custom roller. It doesn't seem to fit them and is probably way underbuilt for a super heavy load.
IMO chances are slim to none you can buy this same setup new or even used.

I am trying to identify the double stack with the gold handles like I said in the first post. Not the third box. The cart is made properly, dont worry about that.

I believe it was called Pro 2000. Early 1990's, non-ball bearing slides if I remember correctly, but nice friction slides (not the standard C-man friction slide rail).

Thanks bob, I am going to try and research the pro 2000. It seems like the seqrch is confusing the old pro line with the new line.

I've got the gold handle top box bought it around 1987. About 2 years later bought the bottom box at that time they had switched to ball bearing slides. At the time this was the only box that Sears had that wasn't red. I think I have the instructions sheets still. Should have a part number on it. Will look tomorrow.

havent seen many around.

Neither have I. If you have a picture of the instruction sheets I would like to print a copy. Thanks

Inside one of the drawers on the sidewall may be labels from Waterloo with part number etc.

And/or there me be stamping inside the top hatch towards the front.

That's the old school Craftsman Professional unit. It was based on the Waterloo Magnum of the time. I'm thinking late 1970's-early 1980's.

not really sure what you're asking here. I've had the old friction slide version, as well as a ball bearing version. They were called Craftsman Pro boxes, 36" wide and 19" deep. I bought the bb version about 5 years ago, used, and sold it a few years later...should have kept it. It is a solid box for a good price, used. Since I sold mine I have only seen a few of them for sale, here in the PNW. Good luck.

The sad part is you were probably sober when you made that post.

Op, I hope my post #12 helps. I agree very 1990's. Maybe early-mid 2000's.

I've done a lot of horse trading on boxes and one thing I've noticed is that the cman industrial boxes are few and far between on the modern day used market. Not just in my area but the general confusion on them seems multi generational and nationwide. If you strike out on the suggestions I have above you may consider pulling all the drawers and looking for a label on the inside of the "cage" part of the box.

But even if you find out what they are it ain't really gonna help in locating others. They seem rare no matter where you go.

On a side note.,,
Maybe someday I will be smart enough to not know anything about the gauge of steel on a a box dolly, the weld patterns, the caster brand--series--or load rating, the framework, overall build quality, current condition, specific require ments, uses, needs, etc, etc, etc...in order to criticize another mans needs and uses. Maybe. Is that a dig at someone? Probably.

Good luck with the search. hard to believe, that a box made in 1987 is 30 years old

Regarding the base, Gray Tools in Canada sold something similar called a base carriage

News flash!!. Sears is a department store. Craftsman is their store brand. Sears manufactures NOTHING. Waterloo has made most of their boxes for many years.

If you read the posts I do not believe anyone said that Sears manufactured this box.

I owned that set for about 7 years. I bought it from sears outlet in 1985 and paid $750 for the top and bottom. It was called the craftsman pro series. I gave it to my father in law and he is still using it.
