My wife got me the trimmer and blower for my birthday yesterday. The trimmer is amazing and more than exceeded my expectations. Plenty of power and great battery life.

The blower on the other hand leaves a little to be desired. While the build quality is great the actual air that it puts out is dismal. I'm not sure I'll keep that.

I hope they make a edger attachment!

Of the M18 trimmer/blower/hedge trimmer, I think the blower is the weaker performer, I am waiting to scoop one of them up under the $100 mark later this year or a used one. I was stunned how big the hedge trimmer is, the blade is longer than the blade on my gas echo model. Both my hedge trimmer and string trimmer are well made heavy tools, IMHO.

Im still torn on the trimmer/hedger deal. Ive got an almost brand new Stihl FS130 from my father who sold his house, and its a great machine, but its the heavy duty model with bicycle handles and is honestly overkill for my yard. I wanted to sell it and then use the money for the Milwaukee set, but am worried it wont sell in time for the HD deal. Decisions decisions...

So back to some new deals. The home depot deal of the day is $249 for the 15 or 16 ga nailer kits.

I would be surprised if they had a 2nd gen that was the attachment swappable, I would be pissed because I expected upcoming mods. Yeah sometimes employees are not that knowledgeable and other times they are not suppose to say.

I've heard similar. Except what I was told was that the plat form might end up like what Ego and ryobi have currently with their expand-it attachments.
So for us with first gen trimmers we might be SOL. But whatever I've been told by reps a take with a grain of salt. I think people in this thread are more informed and aware of updates then this poor reps.

The weed wacker kit with free trimmer is pretty good. I got the wacker and blower 9.0 kits at 25% which I thought would be tough to beat, but the freebie is about the same or maybe a tiny bit more than I paid depends on how you look at it.

Grinder, depends on the model you want. The new braking one is tougher to get a great deal on. The non braking paddle switch was as low at $125 after xmas.

The M18 jobsite charger radio is awesome, last week I saw it for $160 in HD on clearance which is a tiny bit less than great deal I got years ago. Once in a while its a freebie on a expensive kit.

Weed eater
Hedge trimmer
*might bite on the HD buy weed eater, get hedge trimmer free deal
Grinder/cut off tool
Radio/charger

The wacker is great, hedge has good reviews just got one as freebie with the 2897-22CX kit today. I also am disappointed in the blower, I even tried a diameter reducer on the end of it and it made it worse, so no chance to alter it for more force.

The blower is great when you change expectations. If you accept it's not there to replace a gas blower only for quick jobs then hey its awesome if not it's a huge let down. It's also a big drain on batteries. ***** them down fast.

Thats the boat I'm in. It works great for blowing grass of the sidewalks after mowing. I'm amazed it can do as well as it does with that tiny fan in there. Pretty crazy the whole thing torques over in your hand on startup just to get what looks like a 4" computer fan moving.

I'll be picking up a trimmer kit this week. Decided to bite the bullet with the current deal, but the local HD is out of stock, and said they're expecting them to come in any day now. Going to grab the extra battery, since no use for the blower or hedge trimmer.

I did say screw it yesterday and grabbed an M18 Jobsite Radio after my M12 just died. In the middle of moving, and will lose my mind without some music.

Just an FYI the free battery is only a 5Ah, not a 9Ah pack.

Sorry to get sidetracked in thread for a minute - could anyone quickly comment on Ego blower/string trimmer vs Milwaukee?

I've used Milwaukee and not overly impressed (just that all my tools are that platform) - and haven't read anything but good things re: Ego.

Wondering if anyone has experience with both and could make a direct comparison - thanks!!

FYI - price seems to have dropped to $149 each on ego string trimmer and blower and both come with 2.5 battery and charger. Sure that's probably been posted already.

Ego blower over milwaukee m18 fuel blower any day. Sold my ego and got the M18 blower just because I was able to get a few 9.0 batteries and be in one battery platform.

For the ego blower I was down to 1 battery and it would take awhile to fully charge so it would
Leave me hanging if I hadn't charged the battery fully before a clean up job. I figure even tho milwaukee fuel blower eats the batteries I always had some ready to go and can finish the entire yard clean up, but it barely has any power compare to the ego. The turbo option that comes on the Ego it's what the Milwaukee is missing.

I had the ego 12" line trimmer. When it hit $50 clearance. It was good but I am more impressed with Milwaukee. Milwaukee feels more sturdy/a little heavier and the 9.0 battery still has 3 bars left once I am done with my entire yard. The ego would barely make it in the 2.5 battery.

I have to disagree with this. My blower has been excellent and puts out the perfect amount of air. It blows only the stuff I want to blow but doesn't blow all my landscaping around when I use it. I love it.

Saw the 9.0 kit with free Fuel sawzall inside marked down to $225 in a HD, of course its been had cheaper online with disc codes. Was shocked when new batches of this and the circular saw showed up well after xmas and the 150/200 promo ended.

Next drop will be to $200 if you can wait. Then $175 after that.

Drops are usually not that equally incremental. Possible, but after sitting at $225 for a bit, it will go to some ***.06 pricing, then ***.03 (or hopefully **.03 :D)

Not with Milwaukee typically. Though there are some outliers. The M18 radio was .06 .03 in a few stores here. Others are the .00s. $207-184-161-115.

The Rocket light was the same. $249, 225, 200, 175.

99.99% the next drop for that kit will be $200.

Alright I wanna order the 2125-20 underhood light. Would be nice to find a promo that includes this item or a discount code. Anyone?

I don't really want the kit as I don't need a 4.0 and I definitely don't need an M12-only charger

If hes offering bare tool with free 6.0, surely all the majors will have that deal after release date. I will wait to see if theres a stackable $ or % off with that deal.

Wish they had an M18 underhood. Have done everything I can to avoid buying anything M12 and don't want to start now...

You are really missing out.

I've gotten the PVC and copper tubing cutter recently, if only for my small bathroom remodel (non commercial use) and damn they are nice. Makes the work much smoother and quicker.

It's not that I'm not interested in the M12 line, it's that for the work I typically do, the M18 line covers me 95% of the time and I'm already so invested in it that I really don't want to spend the money to start going down the path of the M12 line as well. If I had more funds, sure, but my budget is pretty limited so I try to stick with that I already have the most of.

This underhood light may be the tipping point though. I'll keep an eye out on the deals...

I've been looking for the best deal on the impact/hammer drill combo. This is on CPO, anyone think this is probably the best deal I can get considering it's the new surge?
