I need a 3/8 torque wrench for some tight quarters. Hate the idea of having to buy a fifth torque wrench, but seems the best option. I've searched, but not having any luck. Looking for a clicker style (not electronic). Would love to get one with approx the same dimensions of a regular 3/8 ratchet. Gearwrench's shortest 3/8 TW is 14" overall. That's too long for this project. Anyway, if anyone has a rec for a good, USA-made preferred, TW, please chime in. 40 ft/pounds in the mid-range works. Has to be 3/8. Thanks!!!

Probably pretty hard to find, but I've got a little Bonney/Utica TCI 150RA clicker.
3/8" drive, 9.5" overall length. 30 to 150 in.lb range.

Maybe swap a 3/8" anvil into a 1/4" body TW?

It may create other fit problems but those digital electronic (I know, you don't want electronic)adapters can be used with any ratchet handle you choose. Are you sure there is no way to use a regular size clicker with assorted extensions. As long as you maintain a fairly straight line to the socket, you are OK. What about a flex head torque wrench. They allow you to go about 15° off axis. Thay actually do introduce error( the more angle the more error) but it is small. It doesn't bother SnapOn or Gearwrench.

Thanks. The Utica is inch pounds, so it's range it way too low, but thanks. I would need at least 480 inch pounds. I'm starting to think it doesn't exist and 14" is the shortest I'm going to find. For this particular project, the tightness specs at 40#. I may have to go for "goodnuff" instead.

Thanks Socket. Yes, the digi adapters would be too big. It's miserable tight and then there's the whole range of motion thing. I can't use a deep socket or a short socket with the mini extension. Can't use a short socket by itself due to TW head interference (the one I have anyway). A short socket with a short extension works with a regular ratchet, but even with that, the range of motion is slight (1 click at a time). At this point, I'm thinking I may sacrifice a deep socket and make it a not-so-deep socket (longer and a regular socket but shorter than a reg socket and extension), so I can at least get on there. The long handle on my TW, and thus limited range of motion, may still leave me wanting. Thanks folks.

I have a skidmore/Cornwell 3/8 compact head torque wrench and it's ft pnds and in pnds and maybe 11-12" longs and very slinder with no big fat handle.

You adjust it with an Allen wrench and it's really light and chrome is great.

Cornwell does not sell this model anymore but Skidmore still does but not sure of the price I'd say it's not cheap.

Mine may have been a 1/4 and got converted with a 3/8 compacts gear I'm not sure but the model # is close to Skidmores but they sale a 3/8 in the same deminsions but different ranges.

Skidmore makes alot of torque testing machines and I like the gold standard and thier torque wrench design I highly got to recommend wish I had a pic.

I know you said that you didn't like digital but Eclatorq makes a super nice digital torque wrench that's nice and short and compact. It's a pro level tool and not cheap but it fits the bill size wise.

Thanks. Found the model that would work (ws3-060cn), but their website is from 2008 and I'm kind of wondering if still around. Can't find a distributor, stateside, so they may be no more. eBay looks like my only hope, but by the time one rolls around, if ever, I suspect I won't need it. Think I'll just go with a regular ratchet and "Goodnuff" for the tightness. Thanks all!

Well, they must be around since I sell them and when I place an order they still seem to deliver the goods. The price for this model is in the $200 range so that could be out of your price range but I can assure you that Eclatorq is alive and well since they make all of Mac's digital torque wrenches.
