:headscrat I've been more than pleased with their service. Just read the complaints, and looks like they were selling or offering more than they actually had to sell. Ya, that will ruffle some feathers.

I almost ordered the Milwaukee stand, but prefer something that folds up in one motion, like the Ridgid.

Thanks for the feedback, would love to use them - they have the stand for $99.

I just looked up the ridgid stand - folding ability seems nice. Just that it's about twice as expensive and I don't know if I could put my red saw on an orange stand haha.

Also, I wonder how much bigger the ridgid is as the Milwaukee seems pretty compact.

not compact. i have the previous version, and it is super convenient to collapse and wheel off, it just could never be that compact. i wheel mine around a barn and onto a trailer, so big deal. I have been hoping to sell our Ridgid saw, and keep the stand for a Milwaukee, which I have also owned & sold, but never used. After NPS17 though, I think I'm going to hold off for the 7-1/4 slider. Probably keep the Ridgid then, but it will stay on Craiglist until then

Please clarify, so two batteries or just the one included IN the box?

csmitty, were you looking for the saw?

Yea his response confused me as well. Online they had the kit, plus and additional battery, so 2 9.0s. It sounded like that is what he found but the free battery may have been the one in the box. I'm not REALLY looking for one as I got the Bosch 12" slider but if you could get a free 9.0 to make it 2 I'd probably try flipping to get a free battery.

I got the Milwaukee stand, would of liked the Rigid $199 one for $99 or the Bosch gravity, but could not pass up the deal. Portability is not a priority for me.

Mounting the M18 miter to it is combining 2 bad designs. The stand has the nuts welded to the sliding brackets in the mount rails, the M18 has nut holes on the frame. The cap screw with lock nut barely fits in the hole, forget usimg a washer.... What I am doimg is I got some stainless M8x1.25 nuts, gonna bore out threads and use like a washer.

One of the roller brackets for supporting the board on mine was welded on crooked, need to call Milwaukee.

Couldn't resist and bought one. Both batteries are in the box. It is not clearly marked besides "free battery" but on one corner it lists "2" batteries. Also would make it hard to resell in the original box since it has "bonus extra battery" all over the box.

I bought for the same reason, want the battery but probably not the saw. Dont need portability and don't like the idea of a major tool being tied to only batteries. A dual 110v and 18v would be a no brainer.

DeWalt has a winner in their FlexVolt because of the AC adapter.

I would have bought the Milwaukee if they had (or promised) an AC adapter. The 10" is a better size for some portability, the 12" is too big and heavy. Im already invested in Milwaukee stuff so I didnt buy either cordless miter saw at that point.

You can do a LOT of cuts with the 9.0 M18 before the battery dies. Even using it full bore with the string trimmer, by the time you kill one battery the last one you killed has already been fully charged by the rapid charger.

I see no need for Milwaukee to have the AC adapter if you have two batteries, and that would only be an issue if you were cutting SOLID while someone else did something with the material.

Actually my reason for wanting ac is to avoid the classic "I don't have a charged battery but I need to cut something now". Obviously more of a user issue but if the saw sits in my basement most of the time, I'd rather just have it plugged in ready to go.

Could have been luck, could have been my stunning good looks, could have been my toddler at peak cute with a smelly diaper.

Come to think about it. I also got a magical $1k off my wife's jewelry present when my older boy was his age.

Did the $99 drill / driver combo w free 6ah battery then returned battery. Paid $105 total, got $97 back on the battery. so $7ish dollars for a base drill, driver, two small bats, and charger

no way possible...I did one and price breaks down the line half on the drill set and half on the battery... each item set has a max return $$$ value...
in this case....max is roughly like 50 dollars for the set and about 45 dollars for the battery....not exact...got to look at my receipt but its close..

can you post copy of your receipt to see ....

Yes, but they arent supposed to get that back.

If you bought the promo right now, the receipt would show a "max return value" for each item (the kit and the battery). It takes the battery cost ($89?) and discounts BOTH items on the receipt accordingly.

So if you were to return the kit OR the battery, without returning the other, you wouldnt get full *retail* value back on either item.

Since they did a no-receipt-return, they assumed both items were paid for in full. Which is not true. And lately with no receipt returns, HD is requiring ID so they can track if you keep doing it over and over. Eventually they will block your return privelages for a period of time (and overall, it could lead to them altering their no receipt return policy)

Whoever returned it like this got very lucky.

Pretty unlikely that it will. At HD Milwaukee clearance usually hits 50% and stops or stalls. Usually in that time they get bought up. If something is loitering in the overhead then maybe it will make it lower, but I bet it'd take a long time. If your mildly on the fence, I would get one now.

Lack of morals and/or ethics by customers or is it the idiotic way Home Depot allows full credit at full price on returns without a receipt? Both! Probably causes millions in losses for HD.

It is surprising that they give current sale price without the receipt. Most stores will give you the lowest possible price in the past 30 days if you don't have the receipt. For example, half price if they had a buy one get one free sale.

Yep...there are a lot of reasons full credit shouldn't have been given for returning the battery (or the kit). HD seems to be actively changing their store policies to prevent issues like this, so it wouldnt surprise me if the cashier and/or store manager that let it thru gets reprimanded somehow.

i bet homedepot is one of the places that will only refund you the lowest price it has been for some period of time. but the 6AH battery is new enough that it likely has never been on sale, and they haven't caught up to the "promo" deal in their thinking yet.

i wonder if vendors watch forums like this. it seems to me that i have seen things change pretty quickly on web sites when things get mentioned here. i can't remember what it was, but i remember thinking after it had happened two or three times that it didnt seem likely it was a coincidence. . . . .

it is tough getting old, but i tell myself that it beats the alternative.

Those stands are available for $100 online, depending. I picked one up off ebay from Tools Plus for $100 flat. I wanted a more storable/portable stand and impulse bought it before I really looked into it. Turns out it's not as mobile as I envisioned. It's sitting in my shop until I get some time this weekend to unbox it.... but somehow I think Rigid will still be the winner (love the new 12" wheels but they take up some space when storing it).

Is this honest?

if it was done on purpose, to take advantage of their stupidity . . . . .

the image of the receipt the OP posted for the original purchase outlined what the return values were. if they returned it without a receipt on purpose, to take advantage of a hole in their system . . . . .

if the cashier got in trouble for it, or someone else did, that isn't right, because it is a hole in the company's policies. but that would not stop it from happening.

on the one hand, i think that a big company like HD should know better. but, as bill nye said, consider the following:

you bought a battery there for 89$. you got it home, and found you could get them online for 50$. of course you want to take the more expensive one back. but you can't find the receipt.

you want HD to be nice, and take it back, even without proof, right? but this is a huge hole for them. they dont put tags on most things anymore, since it is wayyyy too expensive. but what happens when you bought it from the Big Box Hardware store, and lost the receipt, but they won't take it back without one? is it moral to go to HD, and get them to take it back?

but i bet they know about that. and they think that the small amount of money involved, for things that they can resell anyway, is a small price to pay for the positive customer relations it generates.

in my book (out soon on Kindle! :), the error was when the OP decided to share it with the whole world. if he hadn't, HD would have continued along, happy with their policy. at this point, now that this has been widely disseminated, (and i bet they hear about the things that a widely read board like this traffics in) i bet they are going to consider changes to the policy.

hopefully, they will do something innocuous, like having the CS people look up the original transaction in the system. HD will keep them for some limited period, like 90 days, and if the CS person can find it they will refund what you are owed, based on that receipt. if they can't and it is small enough amount money, or they see how much you are buying, and decide that it isn't worth ******* you off, they might, otherwise they won't.

of course, there is another issue. are the CS people going to be able to see what you bought in other, nearby stores (in case you bought it two towns over, cause they had it in stock, and the close one didnt)?

these things get complicated quickly.

it was bound to happen at some point.
