Ticho dead blow hammer

I picked this up at an estate sale a couple weeks ago and its become my favorite little hammer. It's a bit mangled but I just love the feel of it. Google seems to think it doesn't exist, anyone know anything about it, or this brand?

The only markings on it are "Ticho", and "Item T-2". Its probably a 12 oz hammer.

If this is your first dead blow and you're looking to expand, I'll be that guy, and recommend Trusty Cook. Pay attention to the "hot deal"" section of this site. They have sales often, and even their "blemished" hammers are nicer than HF's.

I think that's a generic dead blow that's private-labelled by lots of people. I have a slightly lower-weight version in my 'box that I brought home from a visit to BHV in Paris, one of my favorite hardware stores in the world.

Mine is labelled Pettinghaus. Amazon UK has a similar model, and I'm sure there are multiple other sources.

Now that you mention it, it's probably the same hammer, though it may be a different material. I've got a couple of the orange HF ones and an SK replaceable tip dead blow set, and something about this little black one feels good to me.

Then again, I've never handled a Trusty Cook, though I've got a set picked out for when it makes its way up the priority list.

I only had random DB's before (including HF), and the TC stuff is better all around. Not just weight choices, but style as well. I really like the grip too, especially with greasy hands, far better than the others I've tried/owned. Like I said, pay attention to them in the deals section, pick up a cheap one/set to try out. You won't regret it.

The Pettinghaus hammer in my bicycle toolbox is lighter than any Trusty Cook hammer I own or have seen. The material (urethane, one assumes) is a little softer and a bit grippier than Trusty Cook's, too. It's a nice hammer and I understand why the op likes his.
