JBtoolsales. Buy your plugs from Milton as they are far cheaper than other brands but I would recommend Prevost or Dixon Industries for the High Flow couplers as Milton's aren't the longest lasting. Prevost calls High Flow couplers European couplers and I think Dixon does as well. JBtoolsales has both the Prevost couplers and the Milton plugs and Amazon has the Dixon Industries couplers. Here's the link on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DE8JZUG/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Thanks for the tip. Do you what the difference is between these two 1/4" MNPT high-flow couplers? One includes a "smart safety" button. But they all appear to have a button.

The "smart safety" releases the air pressure first and then lets you remove the coupler.
This keeps your blow gun from flying across the room. The other one just does what normal couplers do.

I don't know how many fittings you are buying OP, but if it helps JB tool currently has a coupon code for $10 off a $100 order. Good until midnight on July 4th. They don't have coupon codes very often, so this one's a nice little bonus for anyone that can use it.

Code JULY42017

I had planned on purchasing Milton couplers but I am now going to either get Dixon or Prevost, which will drive the cost up. Might be needing that coupon so thank you!

I've never had any trouble with wearing out a Milton type V coupler. They're way better than whatever odd mix I had before.... probably offshore sourced or campbell hausfield. Miltons never leak or hiss for me. My wife can't get them disconnected though.
I think I buy them from Amazon.

I put in an entire air system using Milton Vs. Probably 25 total couplers and 35 or so plugs. Within 6 months, around 6 couplers had given out. You would uncouple the tool from the hose and air would just shoot out until you recoupled something too it. I think the Oring got down into the one way valve or something. Anyway, even if Milton fixed this problem, I am no fan of their V style fittings.

I ended up changing out all the fittings with Dixon standard 3/8 industrial. Nice little waste of time and money on the Vs. At the time I did not know about the European high flow fittings. I may have tried those instead, but maybe not. Anything resembling a V fitting is tarnished for me.

What a pain trying to find a single source with a reasonable price for Dixon fittings. I have a call into the Dixon outside sales rep. Any other suggestions? Below are the part numbers that I need...

OK, I'll try this again. The Milton plugs are fine, they are also cheap. Buy the Milton plugs in either male or female. They are completely compatible with all Euro style couplers as they are all made by all companies to an international standard.

Prevost and Dixon are the answer for the couplers. They work fine with the Milton plugs but charge three times as much for their own brand of plugs so why waste money. I like the Prevost because of the button release. Very easy to use.

McMaster-Carr sells Dixon High Flow couplers cheaper than you're going to get them from you local industrial distributor. Dixon has very tightly controlled distribution so you're never going to find a hot smoking deal on their stuff. Call McMaster-Carr to confirm but I've always gotten Dixon air line fittings from them when I ordered any type of air line fitting.

Prevost is top quality stuff but you're going to pay for it. Fairly widely available. Want a fortune for plugs but who cares since Milton's work great with their couplers.

I have one air hose in my shop. That means I need one coupler. If I connect two hoses together to make a 100 foot long hose that means I need two couplers. NOT A BIG EXPENSE no matter what they cost. I have over a hundred air tools that means I have over a hundred plugs. The cost of the couplers is irrelevant, if they cost $5 to $20 who cares, the cost of the plugs is very significant. So buy the best couplers and the cheapest plugs.
