Got these in the mail today off eBay. 8-19mm 3/8 drive Herbrand 12 pt shallows for $8.95. They don't have a coo on them so I'm thinking late run production Canada era. The sockets in the bag are USA made Blackhawk 1/2 drive 6 pt deeps 1/2 thru 1 1/8. All for the low price of $24.95.

Which industrial supply place is this? I thought I knew them all. I could use a set of those wrenchesHere are some tool purchases made at my local industrial tool supply last week.
Astro Pneumatic (#7181XL) Flank Bite Metric Combo Wrench Set (Made in Taiwan)
This a very cool wrench design. It has a damaged fastener removal pattern at the open and box ends. The only thing I wasn't expecting a 1 year warranty on the wrench set covering damage based on normal use. Here are some pictures:

Irwin 1/2" Dr. Impact Performance Series Bolt Extractors (Made in U.S. with Global Components)
I purchased the 1/2" drive, 19mm and 21mm sockets to try them out. I was surprised to find out at my local tool supply that the 17mm impact socket comes only in a 3/8" drive.

Update: I spoke to Chris (product manager) from Astro Tools last night in the "Astro Pneumatic Tool Company" thread. He said that the Astro #7181XL Flank Bite Metric Combo Wrench Set has a limited lifetime warranty. The orange card included in the set has erroneous information about the warranty. In addition, Chris can be sent a PM (a GJ member here); email or text their customer service department an image of an unusable, damaged tool. They will replace it and ship an inventoried item the same day.

All Nice.
I like the "damaged fastener removal pattern wrenches"
Hi Brownsfan,
I ordered them from one of your favorite local tool supply places: Lakeshore Tool & Equipment in Lorain. I placed a phone order with Tim and 2 business days later, the wrench set arrived to the store.
Besides Astro Tools, they can order from their distributor VIM Tools.

Finally got more quality tools to work with!
The quality of all these PB tools is outstanding. I've owned them previously...but wow!
Hows the Hazer quality compare to PBSwiss? I own almost everything PB Swiss makes and love the quality. Now I'm trying to find a socket supplier with quality to match the PB stuff.
Just to add my experience after checking feom close several top brands.Hazet quality is very nice. I like their stainless set a lot.
There's an old school sense to it, if that makes any sense.
The chroming on Stahlwille I like more; more of a matte finish.
As others have stated on this forum, Hazet has an older look, but works.
PB sells sockets, albeit with fewer options, but as far as sockets go, i'm happy with my Stahlwille sockets. Pricey though. I don't use my tools for any career type work, but do appreciate fine craftsmanship when I can afford them.
PB finish exceeds Hazet. Quality i can't comment too much on, i don't subject my tools to abusive work.
Very clean used sae 1/4" set from an eBay seller:
Went to Home Depot the other day looking for a set of drill bits that were on Clearance, nowhere to be found of course.
Spotted these guys for 14,98$ in a Special Buy display:

Thought the price looked decent so I went to check the aisle to see what the price was for one... 13,97 $ I figured a dollar for an extra one was a pretty good deal so I grabbed a pair. Get to the cash and the cashier rings it in and it comes up at 12,98 $, so I actually saved a dollar by buying two, works for me.
Very nice picture. I like that.![]()
Damn, Nice Shop.
Good score on the tools too.
Good for you!!
Be mindful of safe work practice please.
Wanted a rail system for my genius impact sockets, 32 metric and 26 sae, weslting fit the bill, pricey but quality is top notch

Spare torx for ratchets, torx is weak, why cant manufacturers use hex on their ratchets?

Wanted some affordable 3/8 locking extensions, I noticed that the longest extension is slimmer than the rest as well as the knurling is more aggressive? 1/4 ratchet HF composite ratchet. They are good for the money, I use the 3/8's at work already

The last time I changed the knives in my planer I told myself it was the last time. Last week I determined they were dull and today this showed up.
Almost done installing...........then putting up a CL ad for a 15" cutterhead, gibs and two sets of knives.

Tools that would have saved my a$$ in the last week. Can you believe 2 screws in 2 tires in 24 hours on the same vehicle? Yeah, the spare too. On a Sunday night! A plug will get it to the tire shop next time.
