Hello! Hello!

I bought my first house and what an experience! There are a few things that need to be done first but the garage is definitely on the list.
It is a 2 car attached garage, and tightly packed with things for the winter here in the Midwest; ping pong table, snow blower, lawn mower, 2 motorcycles, 2 cars, grill.
Wait until I upload pictures and you see the paintings they have on the walls. . . neat but has to go.
I will post dimensions and pictures later.

A friend of mine and my uncle have awesome garages, so they would help, and I will post pictures of theirs too.

After going through this site, there is so much useful information and inspiration to upgrade mine.

Great on getting your first house. There is nothing better then having your own place.

But on the other side...
Every one is going to try to sell you everything from new windows, solar panels, to water filters for the house. Just say NO!! If this is your last house then do what you to make it yours, but don't get in over your head. If this is not your last house, will you be able to get your money back on the upgrades.

I had a friend that got suckered in to all the upgrades and didn't save for the rainy day and when times got hard he had no money and lost his house.

My wife and I bought our second house and we only did what we needed to keep it nice. We saved all our money, dinners at home, no going to the movies and stopped buying ****. Then about a year later I lost my job and I couldn't find work for 9 months. We had a nest egg so we could ride out the storm. After I got a new job we pumped every penny into the mortgage and paid it off in 11 years.

Ya I give it 5 years and waiting to see what happens with my job, if they relocate, see what my income is, etc.
but check out these walls.
The open spot is where my girlfriend parks. Right behind my care is a sport bike and a mini bike. It is tight but is only like this for the winter.

Uncles garage... That floor coating has lasted him over 8 years. He only parks the cars in the garage during winter. During the spring/summer/fall he hangs out in there.
The floor has withstand salt/snow very well.

Painted, added some shelves and going to add more. I bought lights from Costco that I'm going to install after holidays.

I have a typical 2 car garage. It has been over 30 years since any cars have been in it. Most of that time 1 stall was filled by a pop up camper, the other with "stuff". Now it is just "stuff" but I actually have space to do some amount of work in side during bad weather. And with a small propane heater, I will not freeze my *** off !

Start with if it doesn't need to be stored in the garage, the put it somewhere else.
Some things can go into the attic, other things can go into a shed in the backyard

Putting in ladder to above the garage helped!

Working on that shed part.

If I get rid of the ping pong table that will save a lot of room and can put bike there.
