So due to the positive feedback I am doing this.
This is the official spring cleaning/summer tool exchange thread.
This will work similar to the Christmas secret Santa with some key differences. Please read the rules and your request to participate is concidered acceptance of those rules.

How this works. You send me a message requesting/offering to participate. After a few weeks ( 2-3 weeks depending on my schedule) I will close sign-ups with a warning notice posted in this thread.
You will also want to announce your request to participate in a message in this thread.
All who choose to participate will be put in a basked and names drawn as to who will be the recipient of your gifting.
You will be notified through message here on GJ just like how secret Santa works.

When you message me, send:
GJ username
First and last name
Address to ship to
Phone number (optional)
Email address (optional)

Rules....
1 this exchange will be for tools only.
2 the idea is that you are gifting something that you already have and are not using or have duplicates of.
3 the tool must be in working order, not broken ( there is an exception to this rule, that is if you have something that is broken that you KNOW the recipient will want such as an old rare snap on ratchet they need for their collection....etc)
4 the tool or tools you send must have a relative collective value that is over $20 (otherwise why are you even bothering to ship it). There is no maximum value.
5 sender pays the shipping.
6 we are all friends here, no sending junk. Would you give your local friend junk?
7 no whining, pouting, or crying. This is for the fun of it and to a lesser degree it is gambling. You don't know what you are going to get, you may get something great that you need.....or not.
8 to participate you must be a member in good standing with over 100 posts.
9 I have the right to decline your participation if you do not meet the requirements or at the request of the moderators

So there it is folks. We are going to try this little experiment for the fun of it.

Thanks for reading
Bob

Answers to questions you may have....

What if I have less than 100 posts? Sorry, try next time if there is a next time.

What if the recipient is local, can I drop it off to them? Yes you can, but you will also have to buy them a beer, a soda, or just be really nice to them.

Is there a maximum value tothe gift? No there is not.

Is there a maximum size to the gift? No there is not, however if you are going to give the recipient a 5 ton, 20ft long lathe. It is your responsibility to be sure they have the room for it, and you cover the shipping.

Does the item have to be used? No it can be new or used, but preferably something that you already have. This is spring cleaning after all.

Can it be other than a tool? No, it must be a tool or specifically tool related like a toolbox. If you have questions about that just message me.

Can I add something that is not a tool? Yes you can but the tools must exceed the $20 value and the added item is just that, an added item.

Can more rules be posted or the rules changed by request of the moderators? Yes they can.

I live outside the USA, can I participate? Not this time. I want to see what I am getting myself into before I make it any harder on myself.

Thanks guys
Bob

What if the tool is a 12V Lithium cordless tool but the batteries failed and the bastards at Rigid wouldn't honor their Lifetime warranty because you didn't register the tool within 30 days, but the tool still works if the new recipient has the batteries?

If that would qualify, I'm in.

Yes, if you know the recipient can use or would want the tool even if it does not currently work (like in your case) then that is fine.

Damn, only 10 of us! I thought more would have liked to have done this. Well, I'm stoked! Is there anything that anyone is looking for specifically? I've got a bunch of stuff, but could pull out something else if someone is in a need.

yes there is only 10 of us. I though that would be more as well but for a first time what the heck.
this was actually more work that I though it would be (Im not complaining) so I would like to give a big call out of respect to those that have worked the GJSS

please ship the gift out in the next two weeks if at all possible. if it will be delayed just let me know, I understand life happens

For those that are asking, please post what you get with pictures if possible.

For those that have not sent their gift out yet, that is ok, but as a courtesy do so as soon as you are able

Thanks

I sent mine out today and should be there Friday. I received mine today and WOW!!!! Thanks Robert!!!!! I got a whole slew of Wright, SK sockets in all three drive sizes. Some you can see in the picture because they are inside each of the larger size. I also got a 1/2"-3/4" drive adapter and a pocket tire gauge. Thanks again Robert.
