Saturday I bought this Irwin self-adjusting wire stripper:

ALICATE-GRIMPADOR-830x830.jpg.7e9bb39dc5d9421ecd8ff27c2884f900.jpg

And this 18" Kobalt bolt cutter:

boltcutter.jpg.534422356d7661fd5de1797618d3198a.jpg

And I used the bolt cutter yesterday to make this bin rack out of wire shelving:

How does the ratcheting feels lets say compared to Snap-on or PB Swiss?

Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk

They feel very similar to Snap-On as I have a Snap-On but unfortunately I do not have a BP Swiss for comparison. Very smooth and precise action on the ratcheting mechanism. I did experience a lock-up while using it the other day, so I am not sure if my fingers/hand slipped and it hit the selector or not but..... time will tell. So far I like the ergonomics of the handle and the versatility of just using it as a stubby.

Forgot to take a picture before I emptied the box but yesterday I picked up a perfect condition snap on 44pc 1/4" general service set for $150. I was quite happy.

A few weeks ago I picked up a Dewalt DCF899 and an Aircat 1056 stubby 1/2 impact. Well I got to try them the other day. The Aircat is my new go-to for crank bolt removal!!

My old Shop Vac from 10 yrs ago finally kicked the dust so I picked a new one up from Lowe's. Had a lot of nice features, and was lower, so it'd fit underneath my workbench easier. High ratings as well and a much nicer hose than my old one had.

Just from the unboxing and assembly it seems like a well thoughtout vac. The wheels roll really smooth and nice (opposite of my old one), and it's got good suction too. We'll see once I start using it more in the shop.

A few things from the last month or so. Everything but the ratchet is for work. Those knipex pliers are so handy. Definitely lived up to the hype.

Ok, I'll be the first to ask, where did you find the shorter plier racks? And do they come in green?

In the store they where only in red or black. I got them from a store in Thailand. They also have a lot of Snap-on and Blue point tools and tool boxxes.

Tekton Phillips Screwdrivers set: Price is great, seems to be of good USA Made quality, but I don't necessarily enjoy the tri-lobe "futuristic" design (hand shape has not changed much during the last 200,000 years).

It's a keeper, but it won't steer me clear of the Proto Duratek (four-lobular beats tri-lobular any day) :lol_hitti

Matco clamping pliers (different style than the other type I have that are branded Blue Point, they're still U.S. Made) and Matco coolant system adaptors

Matco rethreading set (yeah I could've got a different brand of them, but the set was on sale so it wasn't anymore expensive, plus it's easier to warranty)

Finally, my HJE Day order. SK 1/2" impact swivel set. Everything else was free with the purchase.

You will love that MS271. Mine has been going strong for 3 years now.

Looking forward to trying it out this weekend cleaning up some fallen trees around the property. Last chainsaw I had any time on was an old McCullough that would never idle and weighed 5-10 lbs more than this one. I figure the Stihl will be a treat to use.

New laser that takes an 18650 cell. You know it's good because you need a key to use it. Pardon the mess. I'm working on a remodel project(thread to come)

Hmmmm, I might have to try those. I LOVE my Popular Mechanics screwdrivers (USA made from Wal-Mart in the 90s) because of the triangular shape of the handle. The PM drivers are a hard straight sided handle though, not the "weird" Euro profile like these Tektons. Interesting combo, has the opportunity to be even better in my hand....

new Bosch PS32 12v EC Brushless Drill / Driver. It's the smaller one in the pic, next to the original Bosch 12v Drill/Driver, the PS30. The size difference is substantial.

new Mirka yellow Systainer.

Contents of said Systainer, a Mirka 6" Deros Sander, recall replacement for the Ceros.

I'm not sure if this will still work....thanks PB.

While at the track last week end, I found out a need a few more wrenches, basically some doubles. Since they are for the enclosed trailer tool box, I didn't want to spend big money and spotted these at Menard's. They're also ratcheting so they might be handy at times.

The bins will get cut down for organizers in the same tool box.

Stocking up little by little.

None of this stuff is Snap-On, but it's decent enough, and you can't beat the prices.

Kiwi pliers are spring loaded. Been wanting double jointed needle nose for a while, and need to start using a torque wrench. Stubby ratchet should help avoid snapping small fasteners, and I have a strange feeling that the Tekton composite ratchet is actually going to become one of my most used for general nuts and bots. LOL
