$16 including $5 to get into the flea. The Utica torque screwdriver isn't working, but I found a parts diagram. The screwdrivers seem to retail for a fair bit, so I might take mine apart and see if it's a manageable fix.

Can anyone help identify the wood handled screwdrivers? The third from the left is marked on the shank ("United Tempered USA"), but the rest aren't marked with anything, so no idea if they're Chinese or what. The leftmost one seems to have a rosewood handle.

Thanks! I will confess that I used some WD-40 and a fine Scotchbrite pad to remove the rust, and a quick coat of BLO on the wood to shine it up. They wanted to be ready for their close-up. ;)

That one has a Mac-style handle with a square-cross-section shank, but there are no marks on it anywhere.

The screwdriver next to the pliers is from a set of 5 or 6 that price club used to sell like 35 yrs ago for $3.99. The electrical contractor I worked for at that time swear up and down they were the best ones you could buy.........damn ole cheap basturd. :lol:

Funny part was there were actually decent drivers and the large slotted one had a double length handle so you could use both hands on the really hard driving screws. Hell I bet there's still one or two laying around here somewhere.

Maybe Irwin on the screwdrivers at least a couple, I have 1 Mac a #4 Phillips and its huge. I've been buying the perfect handle screwdrivers when I find them lately and I love them they are heavy duty and gorgeous when redone. I restore all the ones I have found it just ***** they are all flat head. Mac wood handles are hard to find and most I see are made in Taiwan the Irwins are common as well where I live and I don't collect that style ,but they look just like the Mac's but the Mac's have Mac stamped on the metal portion above the shank and Irwins aren't stamped just wrintin on the handle.

@JohnDeere: Irwin makes a lot of sense. I don't think the driver is Mac, and Irwin's printed mark on the handle could easily have rubbed off.

@Cope: I could find no marking apart from "Drop Forged" and a number (I think "31," but don't have the pliers handy).

I'm suprised no one is asking about the 5 dollar fee to get in, never heard of that before and I feel that pushes away aome people that just want to walk around and browse/explore.

Well, I just saw this for the first time when it was revived, I'm not Tym, and he didn't answer, but if they're not Vlchek I'll eat my hat. Vlchek is the only Mfgr I know of that made those gullwings. They went into just about every kit you can think of in the 40's and 50's - including Jeep toolkits, Chevy toolkits, etc. They will have a Flying V logo, a PR206 number, no logo, and sometimes unbranded. DROP FORGED on the elbow.

I pay to get into the Pomona swap meet here in California but its a big event. The small tool sale show thing I went to other weekend was free but like 7 people selling compared to over 100

It goes to the clubs that put on the flea market (MIT Radio Society and Harvard Wireless Club), so I feel OK "donating" some funds to support them.

Plus, the admission fee has been $5 for at least the past decade (they increased it from $4).
