Like many people on here, I'm frequently bringing home old tools. I figured you guys would be interested in them; so I'll post them up here as I find them.

Here's last week's find:

An SK box full of tools. Mostly old SK; but some Herbrand, Thorsen, Plomb, etc. I paid ALOT ($70) compared to what I usually do; but it goes nicely with my other SK box.

Nice 1/4 inch craftsman set. Is it all original with all tools?

All except one of the 6 point sockets was replaced with a 12 point. Everything is marked BE except for the breaker which is marked circled H. I don't know the specific differences; but I believe both markings were '31 to '47.

The 1/4 craftsman ratchet was made by Snap on I wish I could find one in the wild maybe one day.

The pieces in the kit are New Britain made, both BE and circle H are New Britain codes.

the craftsman set is also missing the cross bar that makes the breaker bar into a tee bar.

The wealth of knowledge is always appreciated!

Do you guys think that the set is not original to the box? I can't imagine how a cross bar would fit in there.

The cross bars are quite small and fit in the hole in the flex handle. One would easily fit in your Craftsman set. Here the cross bar is visible on top of my early Duro/ D-I 1/4" drive set. I really like your vintage S-K toolboxes!

That is an incredible find. Additionally I found one of those Craftsman 1/4" sets at an estate sale a few months back ... very well preserved. I paid $18.00. Was that too much?

Bringing home something a bit off topic this weekend; but some of you might appreciate it...

Nice! Is that a cabriolet or a cut up business coupe or sport coupe? What are your plans for it? Restoration, speedster, hot rod, or just put the pieces together and run it? I'm restoring a 31 coupe that was my grandfathers. Its a good thing I'm limited on space or I'd be collecting Model A's like I have tools!:shocking:

It's a cabriolet. It is going to be a long term project. It will start as a hot rod; but eventually I'd like to sell the body and build a boat tail with real swoopy fenders. Sort of Westergard-esque.

I also have a 30/31 pick up that's going to be a mostly stock driver.

Nice! I'd love to get a Cabriolet someday. Does your username have any connection to Donovan engines? I've heard of their aluminum blocks and it sounds like they're quite the performers.
