That third one down is 1/2 inch drive isn't it?
The third one down (GFHLFD80) is just shy of 13" long. It has been available for a number of years as an FHLFD80 with orange, red, green and black handles.

The shortest 1/2" flex head would be over 17" long (SHF80) so it would dwarf the 8" long GTHLFD72 below it. Hoping they have more than one new variety of 1/2" drive hard handled ratchet to show off next month.

My Snap On dealer also has pliers in all black. He told me they are the buy them today, lose them tomorrow tools. First place you set them down, they will disappear forever tools. The someone else is going to find them on the road tools. He had many more, but I stopped listening, he can get a bit corny.

I'll agree with him. I have Williams industrial finish as well as stanley "black chrome" sets as well. They are much harder to find in the engine compartment.

What you need Strouty are a couple of these with green handles swapped on. The colored handles are available to order and I've been kicking around the idea of making an orange hard handled industrial finish ratchet.

My driver had a deal on this set. They're the orange hard handles. I just wish they included a #3 Philips instead of the additional flat blade :/

Ok I see, the industrial finish makes them look bigger.

But then again, a dollar bill for scale would have helped tremendously. ;)

Totally agree. The aspect ratio is very skewed. I think another member posted this pic initially and I saved it to ask my driver about. Not sure if he actually took the pic or not.

Okay figured I'd jump in and offer up some info on these. These are new, just released industrial finish black hard handle dual 80's. So new in fact they have the USA on the head again which apparently all SO ratchets will eventually once again wear.

Part #' s from top:

GFHLD80 - 3/8 Long - $139.95
GTHLD72 - 1/4 Long - $129.95
GFHLFD80 - 3/8 Long Flex - $159.95
GTHLFD80 - 1/4 Long Flex - $149.95

(I might be off $5 on the 1/4" drive ratchets)

None of these come up on SO site yet but dealers can order them for you. They only come with the black handle in industrial finish however all 4 of these ratchets can be ordered in standard chrome with hard handle colors such as green, orange, black, red and blue.....just search part number without the "G".

For those wishing for 1/2" drive dual 80 hard handled ratchets they are coming. Snap-on hasn't ever made a 1/2" drive dual 80 hard handle ratchet yet but they are coming out next month at their tool expo. At least the SHD80 in 8 colors just like they released the FHFD80 & FHKFD80 at last year's convention. Maybe they will have a longer flex 1/2" hard handle also.ddc2432e2fe2bd336eb2d494dbf039ea.jpg

Check out the threads for Craftsman block grinders, there's a wealth of information there.

Think this qualifies as a tool.

Amazon Prime Day pick up (90542-3DC). Nice to have some tunes now when mowing as I was just using ear plugs.

I have those same wire pliers made by snap-on. You're going to wonder how you ever did a wiring job without them.

I already am. I wasn't gonna buy them but the sales guy took them out of the pack and made me play with them. Then he told me the sale price and I couldn't put them down. Definitely no regrets with these.

Not sure if your interested but they make much nicer ones imo. They aren't too expensive either. Lowes carries a pair that has Bluetooth, aux input, digital am/fm with 5 or 10 presets. I hated that dial style trying to find a station. The screen was a huge upgrade imo to see exactly what station your on.

I've been waiting for the SO to go on sale, but that's a great sale price at Napa.

Picked up 6 brand new 5000k LED shop lights from my local Restore for $75. Not a huge savings off retail but it forces me to finally upgrade the ****** lighting in my shop.:lol_hitti

Those have all the features you refer to minus the display... they do however tell you what station your are on by voice when you stop.

I have no complaints and think they are well worth it.

My mistake. How's the reception on them? I would assume very good. Only thing I hate is how quick they go through batteries.

I need something like that but I'd need a pair and with microphones for communication between another person with the ear protection. Any ideas?

Here are the tool purchases from the last month:

Craftsman Driller Hammer (Model# 38527; Made in U.S.)

Sears must have recently asked the supplier to make small changes to this hammer. I own the old hammer and the new one. The new one has a slightly longer handle, new black paint job; crudely stamped (old) versus nicely lettered (new) information on the hammer's face; and slightly larger striking faces on the new model. Both hammers feature a central core plug to reduce shock forces transmitted back to the hand after the hammer makes contact with a steel object. Here are some pictures:

Craftsman 3 pc Damaged Wheel Lug Nut/Wheel Lock Remover Set (Model# 47392; Made in U.S.)

The set contains 3 flip sockets 17mm, 19mm, and 7/8" (22mm). One of the flip socket sides has 6 flutes (for damaged wheel lug nuts) and the opposite has 12 flutes (for damaged wheel locks). These sockets are impact grade. Here are some pictures:

Lang Model# 279 Brake Caliper Press (Made in U.S.)

Astro Pneumatic Flank Bite Damaged Wheel Lug Nut Remover Socket Set (Made in Taiwan)

I purchased this set along with the Lang brake caliper press from Tools Plus Outlet on eBay last month during one of their $15 off $75+ promotions. This set contains the following socket sizes: 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, and 22mm. One of the nice design features is the socket size is both laser etched and stamped on the bottom of the socket. Here are some pictures:

IRWIN Polyester Zippered Closed Tool Bag (Model# 1996703; Made in China)

I was alerted about this tool bag in the "2017 Lowes deals...thread" in the "Hot Deals" section. At one of my local Lowe's, it's being clearanced at $19.99. At some other ones, the price is $29.99. Here is a link to Lowe's for this tool bag: Lowe's. Here are some pictures:
