I'd pay 500 for that and part out what I didn't need...like those flex ratchets

Figure that those socket sets go for a little more than 100 each on ebay

Way I figure, I bought 3 ratchets, and got 1 ratchet and all the sockets and extensions for free.

Fwiw, the socket set alone, no ratchets or extensions, retails for $450 ish...

I'd say I made out pretty well.

I'd say you made out very well indeed. I got on my SO guys truck today and if he had that set laying there for $500 I would of bought it without any 2nd thought even though I already own all of it. I could part that set out for 1/2 of the retail of each individual set/ratchet and still make several hundred $$.

BTW..... do you know what that set is supposed to cost?

Around $1400, but you can pick it up on Amazon for $1100. I obviously wouldn't have paid that much. I've actually never paid retail for any of my snap on stuff come to think of it...

Pretty sure you can't even get an SK set with the same ratchets, extensions, and sockets for this cheap. Maybe not much more, but still.

Wal Mart next to work was having a tool clearance. Also had about 100 or so Stanley sockets and wrenches but in set in that department.

Got some used GW small ratchet wrenches, 8-12mm, for $20. I can't get enough of GW ratchet wrenches. If anyone has a 10, 14, and 15mm stubby GW RW, let me know, I need to complete a set.

I've been going to tech school for about a year, and I've been working in a shop for about a week. This is what I've picked up so far.

Don't worry about my weekly payments, I sold a car to pay for the tools I knew I would have to acquire/upgrade

Imgur and GJ don't play well together (Imgur can't be linked on sites with a Classifieds section).

I can click on them and open in another window, and damn that's a nice haul!:rocker:

Jumped on the bandwagon and picked up my Carlyle strippers. Had to order them from my local store since they don't stock as many tools as I'd like.

Are those the same as the Snappy ones or just an exact copy?

These are made in Taiwan. Mac has the same set, also made in Taiwan. I haven't seen the Matco version in person but appears similar in photos. The snap on version is made in the USA but is the same design. I don't know who actually designed it or has the patent.

Interesting, hammer appears to be a Nupla but branded SK, with Nupla paperwork inside the case. You will like it, Nupla makes excellent hammers.

Mine arrived too... so I will borrow your picture...

There is a LAME **** sticky label on the front that says SK... with a nice embossed into the plastic NUPLA tools logo underneath.

Just got the same pair- I don't have an SO pair to do a side by side, but I've used both and you wouldn't have to try and convince me they're the same.

I was actually stunned by the Carlyle quality- all of the machining is about as crisp as you can get!

I've got this hammer set too. SK version. I've had it for quite a few years. The one I have has the shaft portion in green instead of black with white SK lettering.

My latest CL find.
Enco 8x30 with oiler and DRO. Got it into garage this morning five minutes before the rain started that lasted most of the day. I'll take luck any day.

HJE Day order along with a bunch of Petersen DeWitt Vise Grips. The interesting 2 Vise Grips of the bunch are on the lower right without release levers as the smaller one is marked No. 7 and the painted one No. 10C. Both have April 14, 1942 Patent dates.

Just out of curiosity, what made you go with the open gear ratchet?

Mostly just to be different, that and I have the 3/8DR one that needed a big brother.

But it works like a thumb wheel while maintaining a small width, and the big pawls can handle a lot of force.

I'll be using the SK for finer work and tight spaces, and the Wright for brute force.
