Grade Beams and Cabinets

What is your take on grade beams that restrict things from being placed against the wall?

I am utterly confused about if I should notch existing workbenches or build up a false wall section where I would like cabinets to appear streamlined.

Having that GAP behind everything is questionable.

What is your take on designing and dealing with the grade beams?

All of my cabinets are 8" off the floor sitting on top of my stem wall.

I can wash my floor without anything getting wet

So is it like you only have front feet for levelling?

I have some of those Costco cabinets that might look a bit strange on tall stilts.

My grade beam is pretty tall I think 18" and above slab seems less of course.

You must have a shorter grade beam to make it look good?

I think I would set them against the grade beam, then use the gap above to have deeper upper cabinets without interfering with my bench top.

That is tall.

No front feet for me. Mine are anchored completely to the wall.

Personally, I'd keep feet on the concrete floor, and design table-tops to have extra overhang in the back if its a problem. I have these throughout my shop, but I don't really find it an issue.

I have some Vidmars that can't go all the way back, but its actually a benefit with HVAC ducting in the walls as it prevents those from being sealed off.
