got lots of battery powered tools that I need to store.
Most of them are DeWalt 18 v so the area that battery plugs into is shaped
the same regardless if its saw, drill, flashlight, impact. Show us your mounts.
Im thinking maybe PVC pipe just large enough for the "shoe" to fit in and notch it
for the handle portion to sit on

Here's how mine is stored. There are 2 battery chargers in the back of the drawer.

I already have the chargers set up,and keep the batteries on them when not in use.
I have assorted tools, none of the shapes are common such as all the drills, impacts shown above. These will be stored on a cabinet door thats about 3ft sq

Since we have a lot of scrap 1x6 pine boards laying around the shop, I modified the PVC idea a bit to use the free materials. Somehow I don't have an in-service picture but I do still have the sketch.

The sides and dividers are cut at a 15° angle on the miter saw, so the tool sort of "drops in" to the slot. The top was cut a little long so there's "tabs" on the end which were used to bolt the whole contraption to the bottom side of my workbench. Everything is assembled using wood glue and 15 GA nails.

For my red tools, I used a 1-3/4" hole saw and knocked the rest out with a jig saw. That size seems to work so far on both the M12 and M18 series. I wanted the back ends of the tools to all line up, so I measured the tool from the back to just in front of the trigger switch. From that measurement I subtracted 1-7/8", and whatever the result was is where I put the end of the notch. If you don't care if all the tools are lined up, you could probably make them all about 2-3/4" deep.

I had a piece of 3 inch PVC out back so tried putting the "shoe" of each one in.
they fit the coupling end but not the 3 inch pipe end so I will need 3.5 inch to make it
fit the part the battery attaches to.

Don't have a pic but my Milwaukee 12V stuff hangs by the belt clip on large cup hooks under a shelf in a cabinet.
