It has arrived. Outside of the gold spray paint it's in really good shape. You can still make out some of the original green but I'm not sure I can save the original paint. A little bit of surface rust on the inside but nothing that steel wool cant handle.

Also pictured is its little brother.

If you don't want to do it, I think Smokeshow would like it. If not him, then I will!

Fantastic find! Even if it was spray bombed you still paid a fair price! You are a lucky duck [emoji3]

Here are just a couple of old Snap-On boxes that I have. Also included an old MATCO.

The date stamp is supposed to be behind the Powr-Kraft badge, but I can't find it on mine either.
I would have handed over $40 for that in a heartbeat. Great deal. Love the ones with the drawers all the way down.

Lol. I don't want to cast dispersions, it's simply my taste, that's all. I realize a lot of folks like Kennedy, I don't.

To be honest I do not care for them either and share the same feelings towards quality but I know lots of folks who do... It works out that each person has their own tastes otherwise we would be a boring bunch [emoji23]

Here we go again. Yet another tool box has followed me home. This one was pointed out to me by Smokeshow yesterday afternoon (Thank You!). I had a great talk with the seller, who is a tool collector himself, and made a new friend as a bonus.

P&C Model 9991, 2 drawer chest (with original tray and key!). I also got a couple of P&C hack saws to sweeten the deal. He was asking $35, but I handed him $40 and walked away happy.

Very nice. I'm pretty sure that's the first P&C box I have seen.

I have two more :)

A P&C Model 1120 hand carry box and a Model 1225 6 drawer chest.

What do you reckon the year/era of manufacture for those boxes? I am looking for a PENENS box. No, I don't know what it looks like. But the tools looking for a home are a 35-piece PENENS (1/2-inch drive, 1/4-inch drive, and DOEs) set from the late 1940's.

A couple boxes I've picked up recently. Roller from 1957, top box from 1969.

All I have to go on is anecdotal evidence, so take with a grain of salt.

I believe this style of boxes are from the late 60s.

Every P&C box I have seen has an identical twin with the Proto name on it. I think it stands to reason that Pendleton tool did the same thing for Penens, et al. If you can find a Proto catalog from the correct year, you should be able to determine what a Penens box is supposed to look like. At the very least, you could use the correct era Proto box until you can find a Penens box.

I'm pretty sure these tools are Pre-PROTO Plomb Penens (say that ten times fast, Peter Piper!) pieces, but the same concept would apply to a late 40's Plomb box. I'd really like to find a photo of a Penens-badged box, if one existed.

I picked up this 2 drawer pressteel lower roller last night for $25 off craigslist. Thanks to a casual push towards it by rileysan as he knew I had been watching it and wanting it. Guy started the listing at $50 and kept dropping the price. It is actually pretty straight but has some surface rust in the drawers and in the lower compartment . I love the look of these and could not say no for that cheap! It is missing the lock bar and the lower cover but was still worth it! It looks just like a plomb tool mobile but is not one. This is my third lower pressteel roller! I have a craftsman heritage badge 3 drawer model, have a 3 drawer pressteel which is the red one pictured below and finally this one! Hopefully I can find a tool mobile in the northwest soon but I am not holding my breath as they are more rare than hens teeth

Nice pick up on that Pressteel roller Smoke. It was certainly tempting when it kept popping up on C/L every day or two. I've been way to busy to get into the Portland area lately so was glad to see you pick it up. Ed.
