It is interesting, has a slide directional lever, does that head twist, looks like the head is a separate part from the handle? As 64merc said I don't think its New Britain, but looks to be a style of ratchet that would be from the 50's to 60's. I was thinking I saw the style somewhere but just can't put my finger on it.
It was reported on another site that may be a Wright made ratchet. I would give you a link, but I doubt it would work from here. I bumped it to the top for you though.

Bull: Great photo; my dad had a 1/4" drive set including that ratchet back in the 60's;
I haven't seen one since. The set came in a small red metal box. The photo really
brought back some memories.
Thanks,

I have one of those ratchets. The handle does thread into the head. Mine had red loctite on the threads when I disassembled it. It has no markings on it. I'll post pics of the disassembled ratchet tomorrow.
Glad you enjoyed it...40 years is a long time to go without seeing a particular style of tool again. Maybe I sold it too cheaply.
Do you recall if that red box it came in said anything on it?
The only ratchet I remember seeing with a slide selector was, I think, an S-K.
I believe it was lowell wrench co. Worcester mass.Larry
I have a1/2" drive ratchet that looks very much like it.except the direction control. is done by rotating the end of the handle
sorry for the delay.it is posted on my web site.
Yea it was a little bit old but I figured it would be better to put the info in this thread than to start an entirely new one.Wow, I actually remember this thread. Thanks for the update.
