I have a total man crush on my Knipex. Have the 3 pair set of the Cobras and the flat opening push button set. Love them, so easy to use.

What about changes? Have the teeth strengthened over time? Has the angle of the teeth changed any? In other words, is a new pair in any way superior to an older used pair?

Newer versions open more widely than the original. As far as tooth geometry and hardness, etc. old ones are just as good.

Also there is available a Quick Set which uses the push button to make wider or smaller but can also be pushed tighter for one hand operation in some cases.

As you probably know Sears sells Craftsman branded Knipex if you ever want to pick some up locally.
