Interesting floor paint jobs?

I've decided to paint my shop floor with some cheap Rustoleum paint...I can always touch it up later if need be. I was thinking about a wall to wall light grey color, for light reflection...but that's pretty damn boring.

Anybody have an interesting paint job on their floor? I was thinking maybe I could add a stripe around the outside or something...I don't know. Maybe some kind of logo painted in the center?

I need to paint the walls too, maybe I could use the same sort of design as the floor...

Not sure what you're into, but I was thinking of painting my floor to look exactly like a one of those garage floors you see in everyone else's homes. Might be hard to get the details just right, but I think if I'm careful - and just lay it out in even strokes - it should look OK. I want it to look like one of those garages that guys park their cars in....maybe store some garden equipment, snow shovels, extra boxes...

hahaha - just kidding!

I think it is way easier to get interesting designs with stuff like RaceDeck.
But at something like $4/foot I could do black and white marble/granite floor tiles for that much. I'm thinking more like $0.25/ft.

You can get RD for $2.69 if you tell them you are a GJ member...At $0.25/sq ft, are you not planning on any prep? Painting/epoxy takes lots of prep, time and material if you want it to last. Even more time if you want some fancy pattern

I'm with ya, 22. I am in the process of painting my floor with standard, everyday Behr garage floor paint. Though i did acid/prime and tomorow I'm gonna paint it. Notime/patience for the epoxy and it sounds like I'll just brutalize epoxy anyway.
As for a design I was thinking silver-gray around the edges about 8 inches wide, then silver-gray for a 2 foot strip, and then just paint the centre silver-gray to keep the pattern consistent.
Before "cheap paint"

$2.69 is still way more than I want to pay. I'll use some kind of stripper/etcher first, and some pressure washing. I don't expect cheap paint to last forever, but the thing about it is I can keep an extra gallon already color matched for touch ups. I'm going to beat up the floor no matter what it's made out of...

This is my sawdust room. The floor was not in real good shape after many patches. I knew if I painted it all one color, the visible flaws would drive me nuts, so I sort of camouflaged it. Touch-ups are easy too.
