No clue or research but my bet is rebrand. Why would a huge company like stanely reinvent something already common.Did they rebrand it from another company like Dremel did or is this their own in-house development?

I will never buy another electronic item from Stanley. In June I purchased a new Stanley battery charger and used it one time on my lawn mower. I started to use it again a few weeks ago and it didn't work. Nothing on the box or in the instructions indicated it was not a Stanley product, so I contacted their customer service. It took them 4 days to respond and the response was "Sorry, this item is made by another company and you must contact them!". I contacted the other company and basically got a shrug and sorry our product doesn't work. By the way, it has been discontinued! You can send it back at your own expense for our evaluation! I sent it to the trash!

Yeah basically. At least how i read it. Its not quite 5000 a gallon ink prices but same business model.So they've gone the way of the ink-jet and the $5000/gallon ink? I'll pass.
