I agree with Tundruz and macgee. If you expect screaming deals to be easy to find, forget it. If you are looking for a specific category... let's say VISES, you can't expect low price, close by, good condition, and easily found all at once.
Sure, you can find good condition, easy to find, close by with a HIGH price or any other combination... just not all at once.
I have told people that hunting C/L for deals is like panning for gold. Takes a lot of time and you have to ignore tons of gravel, but there are a few nuggets there that keep a guy on the hunt. If you don't kinda enjoy it, it probably isn't worth your time for the money saved. Just buy new tools and equipment and get on with your life.
Regarding the box of tools
Tundruz used as an example... (which as of 9:30 this morning was deleted by author, probably gone)
Let's all remember that there are deals out there that aren't always visible. I once bought an old military looking money box priced at $10. What didn't show was that it was completely full of electrical fittings that were worth at least $100
Also, I picked up what was advertised as a "box" of old tools. $20. The C/L ad showed some junky looking stuff like your pic spread out on the floor. Some useable. But no pic of the box. Turned out that the "box" was a nice red Kennedy carry box.
