Weird, my driver had some that were hex dies, then just recently he offered them in the 12 point style.

I could also be insane. :headscrat

I went and looked at the website, the double hex sets are SnapOn now and the hex sets are BluePoint. No help on who actually makes them though. My driver always swore that if it said SnapOn on it, it was either made by them, or was one of their designs made by someone else that they had exclusive rights to and that BluePoint was always re-branded stuff they didn't have exclusive rights to. It did kind of seem that way over the years...

That does hold pretty true. The majority of rebranded stuff is labeled Blue Point, with only a few exceptions with Snap-on tagged on them (Grip-on, Assenmacher, Kastar, Irwin, etc), but most are mainline stuff that Snap-on makes and sells under Williams or CAT, or stuff that Bahco or Sioux make (both owned by Snappy).

Whoops, bad assumption on my part. Does explain the similar pricing.
No matter what it is, if it says Snap-on or CAT on it, you're paying a premium!:lol_hitti

Yes, they are the same sets. I had the 4pc set listed (and the Matco & MAC 6pc). Added the Blue Point 6pc, and the 8pc Matco set to the list. Thanks!

Saw that Bluepoint had this 3-can holder which HF doesn't, but looking at images saw that Eastwood actually has a whole set of 3-magnet holders AND paper towel holder!!!

HF is $9.99 each for the paper towel holder, 2-spray can holder, and magnetic tray

I was really interested in one until the reviews started pouring in about how the "U" basically worked like a spring.

That surprises me, figured of all the things they'd outsource, electric tools would be it.

Updated some of the Craftsman with a lot of red since the pinless impacts are gone, as well as all the Pro line and old school red handled pry bars by Wilde.

Anyone certain yet if AJ Manufacturing is making pinless impacts for Matco, or is it still what little of Armstrong's manufacturing is still pumping them out?

Hey guys,

Now that the Armstrong flex head ratchets are discontinued what would be the Matco flex head ratchet alternative be? I see that some sites still sell the Armstrong but warranty is no longer lifetime replacement, etc.

RE: Armstrong 11-994 Maxx Locking Flex Ratchets

Thanks in advance!

Question: Are the Bahco XXXXSL (For example, 8150SL) amazonlink

The same mechanism but also quick release compared to the original 8150? I've seen conflicting data on whether these are 80tooth or 72 tooth.

I made an account just to thank you for this well structured and comprehensive list!

Since you kept the discontinued tools here in red text, I was able to find a head rebuild kit for an old Matco torque wrench using this list. If the site I found it on didn't lie about their old stock, it should save me some money.

Cheers!

Does anyone know who makes these..

Snap-On - AWM140DK & AWMG9 - I've alway thought it was bondus but not 100% sure.

Mac Tools - SVDPM166BRPT - I believe these are made in Taiwan not sure if they are exclusively made for MAC though..

I might have missed it but I am looking at pneumatic brake bleeders and the Private Brand Tools pbt70852 looks a whole lot like the snap on. Anyone know either way about this?
