Advance Auto has the Quaker State Ultimate Durability Synthetic oil on clearance for $8.45 for a 5 quart jug. This is cheaper than I can get any other oil by far. I stocked up for my Explorer. I saw 5w-30 and 10w-30. Other weights may be included. As usual YMMV.

Local store had "price reduced" sticker to $29.99, but the 5 quart rang up at $17.45. Not as good as $8, but still a good deal.

The website was good for finding a store that still had inventory. The closest store was out.

Thanks for this, will take a look at the few local stores that have stock. Its great oil, but for 17.45 (or 8.00) its smoking.

I picked up some @ a couple of nearby stores. Thank for the heads up. At both stores they were still marked $33.99 on the shelf but rang up $8.45 each. They also had Royal Purple and single qts QS on clearance.

All I saw was 5w-30 and 10w-30.

Hit another store up and got the last 5 at 8.45 as well. Looks like i will have to check more tomorrow and never have to buy oil again.

Apparantly how it works according the the manager at my one local store,

Each store sets their own price. Since I got some at 8.45 at the one store, I have been convincing the other stores to price match (which they are not supposed to do). I have gone to 4 stores at this point and have a few more to hit. If they do not sell it by an unknown date, it is pulled back to the distribution center, where they need to fill out paperwork. Its quicker to sell it cheap and match the low price rather than the manager filling out the paperwork to send it back to the distribution center.

Hope that helps.

This is exactly how it works. That's how we get all the giveaway stuff for our car shows. I know the GMs of 3 AAP stores. Once it hits a nickel corporate won't allow it to be sold.

Thanks for posting. I picked up 9 jugs between two stores. At the first store they had a couple gold jugs like in the lead picture that rang up at 11.49. They also had green jugs in the rack, those rang up at 8.45. Go figure. My counter man had no idea why, but went and set aside the last two for himself as soon as I paid. 6ed3fc278dcc0d91552581e0f886eb7b.jpg

I’m believing the discounts are by store at this point from going to 7 different stores. Each store was a different price, with the one being the cheapest that the others matched. I have to return to the one more expensive store today and maybe he will do the price match now.

Grabbed 4 jugs of 10-30 today @ 8.45 each. Like others, they were marked full price on the shelf but rang up at 8.45. Thanks OP...

Other way around here. Green rang up at 16 and change and gold were 8........Actually 8.45 for the 5W and 8.65 for the 10W:dunno:

Will be attempting to claim the $7 a jug rebate tomorrow.

Yeah not sure whats going on here either. I didn't notice any green(but also thought it was only gold) but used the receipt posted above to get the gold price matched from 18(33.99 on shelf) down to the 8.45. The guy noticed it was different part number nut said F it after he had already called his manager on phone and got OK. It didn't click until I saw the pic of green posted here later.

Looks like the new bottles are green:

http://www.quakerstate.com/en_us/blog/new-green-bottle0.html

The blog post is from Oct, 2016.

Interesting to me is the green bottle posted above doesn't have the big Dexos2 logo.

Yes, I noticed the Dexos2 logo was missing. Usually I think New Coke, and when they say on the blog that they haven't changed anything on the inside of the bottles, this pretty much confirms that they've changed something. Maybe Dexos2 wasn't all it was cracked up to be (whatever that was)? I will also be trying out the rebate to see what happens. It's already the best deal on motor oil I've ever gotten, though, so not all too concerned.

I guess I said something wrong. The green logo is Dexos1, which the QS website still has listed for the standards on some of the oils. GM does charge a licensing fee per bottle to use their logo, so who knows ...

The Dexos2 logo is blue, which I haven't seen on any of the Quaker State oils.

Grabbed 3 jugs of 5w-30 QSUD for 26.77 after tax -5 speed perks coupon brought it to 21.77 out the door. $7 MIR x3 jugs brings this to .77 for 15 quarts of full syn oil. Not to bad I suppose.

Just Got 6 jugs of green @ $8.45 + tax out the door. FYI the pn on the jugs of 5W30 is 550046194, this is on the back label on the jug, just leave off the 5500.

Thanks! I just got five green jugs of 5w30 at that price (plus 50% off). They had 10w30 too, but I've got more of that than I can use at the moment.

Quaker State semi synthetic is also on sale for 1.55 a quart. My local Advance had ten quarts of 5w/20 plus 10w/40 for that price.

I cleaned out three stores of 0w/20 full synthetic for my wife's car. All at 2.15 a quart.
