I picked up 2 shelves from the Merrillville location for $22.38 ea. Gumme... I'm not 100% sure that I'm going to like 2 shelves in my garage. If the second one is over kill I'll sell it to you for what I have into it and bring it over if you're interested. I wasn't sure if you passed only because you couldnt get it home.

Some have asked for the Lowes price match policy I got from Lowe's customer service. Here it is. It says they price match their own price for up to 30 days after purchase.

Have you had luck having stores price match clearance items?

I see they are specifically excluded according to the policy you posted.

I've tried a few times and called corporate. Seems lowes will not price match other lowes clearance prices and corp will back them up. Your manager may vary.

I have also had managers tell me district only price matching, and corporate backs them up. It says local competitors or Lowes on their price-match link.

Yes I've been able to price match NON clearance items, but since the item in question (vacuum) was clearance and the disagreement was over price matching store to store, I was curious how it worked because the policy pointed out here specifically excludes clearance items.

I did last week. Basically the only reason he did was because I ordered one online for in store pickup and they couldn't find it. Matched the Dremel kit for $20 which they had at $59.99. Its hit or miss. I asked a different store if they would match clearance (Used the $12 vacuum as a for instance) and she said they would not do that. Clearance prices are set up by individual stores.

So basically it doesn't hurt trying.

Not exactly the same promotion as online. Same freebie, but the offer online goes until October 11, thus making it a different "offer," which appears not to include the grinder. Often offers/promotions are the same, but every retailer I've encountered considers online a separate entity than the brick & mortar locations. HD wouldn't do a deal instore that was available online today for me. Now, not to say you won't come across an accommodating employee that will take care of you, but they are separate.

Just a quick note about that dewalt 20v grinder, thats a brand new brushless model just released to the public a week ago which is probably why it doesn't load up online the same way because the promo started a few weeks back. I just bought the older brushed version 20v grinder 6 weeks ago online and wish I didnt, I really want that new model with the free battery.

I bought it anyway because I want one.

Edit: This brushless thing is a beast. Every bit, if not more powerful than any of my 7 other corded angle grinders (Milwaukee, Ryobi, Makita, and a handful of the orange HF junkers...that just won't quit). I threw a 40 grit flap wheel on it and leaned on a piece of a 1/2"x2" bar with no signs of weakness...

Edit #2, I used my google fu and found this .. go to page 12

unless you are like everyone else & doesn't keep their box & packaging materials for at least 90 days, return it (that is if it was at Lowes or HD). I'm going to be returning a Milwaukee Fuel High Torque 1/2" Wrench, as the new one is available now, and I'm within my 90 days easy.

actually it shouldn't matter where you got (not 100% sure on box), but I forgot Dewalt has a 90-day satisfaction guarantee. I used it last year on their outdoor equipment the day Milwaukee announced their string trimmer (so glad I did).

Anyways, that's awesome that the online deal goes until Oct 11th on the other three brushless tools. I'd love to get me that 7 1/4" circular saw and replace my corded model.

I went to my local store that had 8 Dremel kits on the shelf and listed at $59.99. I explained to the customer service gal how I bought one at another store and they couldn't find it. She had to have the manager approve it. He was a ****. Basically made it out to be like he was doing me a huge favor by matching the price. And he made sure to tell her "he's only buying one at that price..." The gal who started with me was cool about it.

I have found 2 lower prices, both in MN. She said they can only price match other stores in the same state. So guys in Minnesota with a store with these in stock might be able to get them for $5.99.

This same store showed 4 in stock and had lowered their price to $15. I put a pickup order through and got a confirmation. Now the price is back up to $59.99 and they show no stock... It all happened in less than 10 minutes.

Sorry people I was hoping to have a deal to share.

If the store is out of the clearance item & the store actually corrects their stock count when they try to fufill your order, that would trigger the price in the website to go back to regular retail. The **** part is, if they do find them, they won't be at clearance price when they add them back into stock. It will be a couple days before the clearance pricing gets triggered again, at least that happened to me in a Bosch clearance saw last year

If you add the grinder to your cart, the battery does not get added. If you try to add the battery by itself, it shows not available.

I just got off the phone with the store manager and he didn't understand it either. He said the batteries are in stock, and the deal is legit. I have a battery on his desk with my name on it to pick up this evening...Hopefully it'll work out.

I just ordered one for a coworker since I had one. I went back to copy the link to post here and the price had changed and quantity went to zero. (guessing they had trouble finding it and realized they showed 4 but only had one.) I did pick it up yesterday evening after work.

On the flip side... Merrillville shows 1 in stock even after myself and my coworker put through online orders that were subsequently cancelled. Still showing $20 price.
