grind AND acid?

I had to grind down some bad spots on my floor so I just ground the whole thing. some spots I could have done better I think but overall fine. Since I have the acid etch anyway I was going to do that just to be sure its good adhesion. but I've seen a few posts that say not to do both or that its not needed. Is there a downside to me now doing the etch as well?

Acid etching after grinding is not needed. Also, you are now introducing water into the concrete which will require time to dry thoroughly or you will be introducing issues that can develop during application.

After grinding and using a blower for hours I still had residue on the floor. I ended up power washing it so I have to wait anyway. I'll take a better look at the floor and see if it has that grit finish now or still smooth.

If you grind, no need to etch. But...you should prime first since you grinded.

Absolutely. It costs quite a bit and isn't for everybody.

How big does your 'grin' have to be to avoid etching?
