Stubby ratchet that can be used like a crowfoot

I stumbled onto this and thought it was genius....searched the forum and the name and model number didn't turn up. Its a new product from Nepros a short ratchet that also accepts and extension in the handle making it a sort of crowfoot system. I want to buy one for the that once in two years I could use it but its not cost effective for that since I already have a snap-on stubby. I'd want it for the crowfoot-like ability.....stinks to pay a premium price for 90teeth and all other other ultra precision and refinements from Nepros that aren't really needed for that aspect.

Yep, I have the Snap-on version and it comes in handy from time to time. I don't use it often, but when I do it's hard to beat.

Sweet...more options. Apparently a semi-common concept.....stinks again you are paying for the ratchet technology when its overkill for the 'crowfoot' capabilities.

Heck, I'd take that thing and fashion a hard-rubber pop on grip for it and use it like a palm ratchet. When I need the indexing fucntion I'd slide the home-made grip off. Easy peazy.

That way you could justify the cost as you'd be using it more often.

I have the Snap-on and I've used it over the years to get too some tricky places. It also allows the user to put an extension in the end of it to turn it into a longer ratchet in effect.

I have the Nepros and the Koken, I prefer the Koken unless the 90 tooth of the Nepros makes the difference. They are not something that gets much use though.

The pic seems so.

Nepros head is a couple mm smaller and a fraction thicker than Koken, but the Nepros is a better shape, they are the same length from the drive to the hole in the handle (you can actually plug them into each other) but the Koken is longer as it also has a hole in the end. Koken has less back drag but they are both fairly new so may change when they have had more use.

Laser Tools 4009 ratchet head

Looks like it was priced lower, but seems to be discontinued (there may be one in France or something). I guess the traditional ratchet adapters are more popular still (maybe because you'd have to think of searching for a "ratchet head", since they don't seem to call them adapters). Could put a socket cap on a regular ratchet adapter and use a crowfoot over that, speaking of using them like a crowfoot (or that might be silly... I'd have to try it first though, since I have those already, or wouldn't expect it to come up anyway—not to say they couldn't be useful).

How hard is it to put a square hole in a budget handle otherwise?

Koken has only 24 teeth (15 degree angle) vs 90 teeth (4 degree angle) on Nepros, definately see the advantage of the Nepros in tight spaces.

Only Snap-on is close on the teeth count, Nepros beign the cheaper of the 2. So if you really need one of these, it's one of these 2.
