My life long dream has always been to own my own place that I can go out in my back yard and turn some wrenches on what ever project I have at the moment. Over the years I've rented spaces worked in my parents driveway and friends garages as well. 26 years into life I finally purchased my own 3 bedroom house on a half acre with a koi pond and most importantly a 24x24 detached garage!

Welcome to the jungle!

After an hour in the skid steer you can see the house is in there somewhere!

And the most important part! 24x24 ridge running the proper way for a lift! The garage was nothing special but the start of a perfect shop is there for me. I will have to upgrade the electric and also plan to plumb water out there as well.

It didn't take me long to get rolling on the first order or business, the floor. With an empty garage I decided to start prepping for rustoleum rock solid floor coating. 4 days or pressure washing and lastly concrete etching it was given 72 hours to dry.

Went to home depot and purchased 6 kits of rock solid in silver bullet color $100 a pop. followed every instruction to the T as I wanted no issues with this and wanted a good looking floor. I began to roll on the product and realized that the 100-125sq ft per a kit they said it covered was very off. I ended up having to grab a 7th kit to finish out the floor and it still had some spots I feel were WAY too lite. As the floor began to dry my worst nightmare occurred BUBBLES.

After one call and email with proof to rustoleum they issued a full refund to me on the products I bought and also explained how to fix the issue. I went ahead and let the floor dry popped all the bubbles and top coated the problem areas with 4 more kits. So all in all for $400 I'm content with the final product. However it does seem to scratch extremely easy.

Next order of business was Lighting as the 3 bs 30 watt bulbs were not cutting it. Amazon sells a kit of 4 4' LED shop lights for $120. Went ahead and installed those converting the bulb sockets over to standard gang boxes with outlets.

I also began moving my tools and my toys in! 2003 SVT Cobra and a 1978 Mercury Zephyr. Nice to finally be able to store them both inside!

Great to see other folks interested in the lesser known Fox-chassis cars! I've got a few Fairmonts & Zephyrs, plus a couple of parts Mustangs and a wrecked Explorer (for the engine.) My parts cars have their own parts cars, plus I'm bringing home more goodies all the time. That's normal, right? :dunno:

My Zephyr is a wagon, but the Fairmont is a 2-door sedan.

Parking has been an issue since I bought this place with a 1 car entrance to a 2 car garage its always a game of musical cars. This weekend I brought my 289 home from work and went to town.

Took down a good size tree with some help from a buddy. Managed to de-limb it and land it down between his racecar my house, garage, and neighbors PVC fence. That one had me sweating!

Cut the grade down roughly 4" for some 1 1/4" gravel I will bring in from my yard (pic is not final grade)

Not much garage progress yet been messing with the house. Got some projects in the garage though! Putting my drag wheels on the cobra and doing some bracing for the torque boxes. Also have a banshee motor build that has started for a buddy

My Zephyr is a wagon, but the Fairmont is a 2-door sedan.

My father had a new 79 Zephyr wagon (200,000+ miles) and a 82? Fairmont 4 door that he bought used from a Ford dealer. We think that car had issues prior to him since it had an over heating problem. The last visit to the shop for a diagnosis or exploratory surgery was gonna be big money on a 9+ year old car with less than 70000 miles so he traded it in.

Finally some garage progress! Uncle Sam sent me back the extra I gave him this year and I decided to get a little spendy in the garage. Ended up coming across new age products garage cabinets while researching different ideas. I must saw Im glad this is the route I went fairly nice stuff for the money. This is the setup I went for.

Shipping time was fairly reasonable, however I was missing one box containing a base cabinet and an upper cabinet. Took my Saturday and got to work on installing these after.

You can see what was there prior to me getting involved in the background here. Some cheaply made benches which had to go. After a few hours things were starting to look like something. Could only do so much without having the top one missing two cabinets. Used some 2x4 to support the 2 I got installed.

So now I'm waiting on the rest to show up before I load all my stuff in. Very exciting to have something nice in here! If you also look above the cabinets I mounted a cheap $65 sound bar up on the wall. Money well spent tunes sound pretty good!

Very nice set up. I’d like to read your review of these cabinets after you use them for six months or so. I’ve been looking at them for awhile.

Haven’t updated this in a bit, obviously got my cabinets all up and I’m loving them. Being able to store things neatly and hide it at the same time is great!I’ve also added a sound bar above the cabinets so i can listen to music off my phone. Been getting a lot done in here, bought myself a 2011 gt500 and sold the cobra. Recently swapped a 17/15 drag pack and went to a high amp alternator in it. This one makes 780whp [emoji16]IMG_0407.jpgIMG_1739.jpg
