A lot of Ford's use a 6.3mm on which a 1/4 socket will work fine. These are 1/4 drive.
SK is the only company that makes a 6.3mm socket, that I'm aware of at this time.

Where is this fastener used? Because 6.3 mm is .2480", just .002" short of .25" or 1/4" Does it have a metric thread or is it American?

I haven't run into one yet. But wouldn't be surprised. Mostly 5.5mm, 8mm, and 6mm which possibly could have .3mm of rust? No idea. But been doing mostly electrical. Mechanical next week...

I just replaced the engine in my 02 exploder. The riser off of the exhaust manifold to the egr valve is 1 1/8". The only fraction size I used. The others were 7mm, 8mm, 9mm,10mm,12mm 12pt, 13mm, 15mm,17mm, 21mm, T27, hose coupling tool for fuel line, oil pressure gauge, trim removal tool for Christmas tree push pins, pump for transmission fluid fill, and an obd II scan tool. That's about all I can remember off the top of my head. Also a pick to help push the tabs on the electric connections. I forgot I also used a 1/4" and 3/8" drive torque wrenches and various extensions.

The reason I asked was that GM did this kind of thing back when metrication was just beginning. They actually had fasteners with a 6.3 mm thread. I recall having seen a tap that size once.

The problem with the water pump on that engine is, if it ignored coolant goes into the crankcase and enough get is, you need a rebuilt engine.

Very simple solution. If your engine is running hot or low on coolant and there is NO OBVIOUS EXTERNAL LEAK or IF THERE APPEARS TO BE A MYSTERIOUS OIL LEAK FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE you likely have a bad water pump and need to get it serviced IMMEDIATELY !!

DO NOT BLINDLY KEEP TOPPING OF THE COOLANT ! You are killing the engine.

One video I watched did not show any pressure leak on a cold engine until 25 PSI.

I know to check the weep hole for excess. Problem with watching the temp is that once the temp goes up the pump has already failed and apparently the engine bearings are shot and need to be replaced.

6.23mm and it’s not a 1/2”?

I sense you were looking for a valid excuse to buy more tools. You absolutely must have a Hein Werner jack and stands for basic oil change lifting. No other brand will work. It requires a Quincy QT-5 air compressor to fill the tires and only WrightGrip wrenches properly fit the Lincoln fastners (everyone knows this). Some Mayhew prybars will assist with tire rotation and you should have a Snap-On BJP1 ball joint press to maintain your front suspension. Any questions?
I bought an 06 F250 5.4l Triton with 180k on it. Spent more on tools since I bought it than the previous 6 months. Now the CHT is reporting 300 degrees and shutting down 4 cylinders to cool the engine. You sure feel that! Funny thing is I have a low coolant temp code at the same time. Lol

I think they quit using the 2-piece spark plugs after 2010.
They did and the Lisle Tool engineer called me at 9pm on a Friday night to help me with using said tool. My jaw dropped.

All I can allow is that every Ford I've ever raised the hood or jacked up required every tool in the box or garage before finishing any job, no matter how simple.

When book times says an hour plan on 2 with Ford.
