Hi, I found this wrench in a tool box that I bought. It looks like it might be a craftsman but it's not labeled. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

That's DB Edward the 3rd/or4th. He's been missing for many years and was last seen in the engine bay of JoeBobs John Deere. Man am I happy you found him.

Beat me to it!

But in all seriousness, I agree with Ole Slewfeet. It's a Barcalo.

Makes sense. I found a few other Barcalo wrenches in there as well. Thanks fellurs!

Edit: Did some digging and the E code along with the lack of chrome plating and rough finish suggests it was made during 1944.

I posit the E being the 5th letter of the alphabet, its 1945.:p
"E" could just stand for 'emergency', but since some have a "D" code I'm thinking it changes by year.

Edit; Tool Archives has quite a few pics for comparison, Alloy Artifacts has a few.

I believe that with Barcalo the letters are simply forging marks with no other significance. Here are a few relatives of your wrench, all with the "E" code.

Does this appear to be Barcalo also? No letter markings.

Here is AA's specific info about your wrench.
"The Select Steel Brand

Indestro continued to offer its "Indestro Chicago" line of economy tools in the post-war years, using the same distinctive "Streamlined" dart design which had been trademarked in 1937. This line of tools evolved into a "Select Steel" brand, with the Indestro name no longer marked, but implicit via the "Streamline" trademark.

These tools were widely sold through hardware stores and other channels and were apparently highly successful products, based on the large numbers of tools to be found."
