Excellent pump that earned IR's reputation for building top notch machines (which they then pissed away...).

I don't know which model of T30 we have at the shop at work, but I do know it has a 10HP 3phase motor.

That thing looks ancient... Still probably worth the $100, but I bet she needs at least some attention paid to the valves.

that's what I'm thinking, and I'm also curious how readily available parts are for older models.

I would call the local compressor service company. They'll be able to tell you if its worth getting parts for, or even if they're available.

Are you just getting the pump or the receiver tank too?

just the pump, I've actually got a 60 gallon tank, pressure switch and mag starter that came from an IR T30. just need a pump and motor.

This is the older concentric disc valves arrangement, which is a superior design to the new reed valve heads they put on them now. These compressors are everywhere and parts are easily found.

Hi Jim !! i have an ingersoll rand also and it seems to be the same than yours.... can you tell me what, s on your VIN tag ? must be something something like; canadian Ingersol rand limited, Type 30 , Max 175 PSI etc....i ll try to put a picture of my tag also on here... on the tag it says model MK7H8 but cannot find nothing in archives to restore it.... but after several researches i found it might be the samilar than 57T .... i bought my unit in 1996 and it been made around 1988-1989 ( tag on the air tank ), and it was driven by a 7.5 hp electric motor 550 vac 3 phases... i swaped it for a 7.5 hp 230 vac 1 phase ( at homes garage, got no 550 vac...) actially i am proceding to restoration and my electric motor is at the shop and the tech there told me that 7.5 hp electric motor is the minimum i could use to drive mu air pump and to do not go less.... if it can help you .... can you tell me more about your unit ? Did you strip the heads ? on mine the Low pressure piston is 5 inches diameter and Hp piston is 2.5 inches.... stroke is 4 inches....
Thanks.

I just plopped a 57T on a C-aire that had a Chinese Saylor Beall 707 copy that had a bad valve. It's got a Baldor 7.5 HP on it. First thing I have to do is figure out the pump RPM for a 7.5 HP motor. I' going to change the pump oil and see how much CFM it's putting out before I start doing a valve job. The former owner took good care in storing it so I'm hoping it's in good shape internally. Any idea why mine is a 57TE?

I got a parts manual from Cary at Pacific Air Compressors. Now I just need to find a manual with tolerances and torque numbers.
