The only fix we have at the moment is to disable Tapatalk... so, that's what I'm gonna do.

As a company, Tapatalk has famously bad support. I hope to have it back, but hate counting on them.

^Tapatalk is handy only when I want to see whats going on on my mobile. Otherwise I dont like it.

I prefer tapatalk if we're voting. I like it for uploading pictures. besides if i'm in the middle of an issue easy to take pics and post.

Block any and all traffic coming from Amazon AWS. None of it is legit traffic.

You can get their ranges:

Block bad bots.

In IIS use Domain and IP restrictions to slow clients down or IPTables on linux.

Performance is fine on my end. I only use my iPhone to browse this site and I use the full version site in the browser. I’ve never understood why so many people love tapatalk, I personally can’t stand it. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. Anyway thanks for the work you put into this site. I imagine it must be like having another kid with a site the size of this one.

I was getting a lot of lag and double posts yesterday afternoon, guessing that is what Ryan was referencing.

It's not a load issue... It's an issue with Tapatalk's code not being scalable... at all...

I only noticed slowness when posting. Both in the morning and afternoon (eastern time) Otherwise, fine. No tapatalk.

Ryan: after each post i made yesterday the wheel on my Google chrome just kept spinning, but i opened up a new page on Garage Journal and found out that even though the other page was still spinning the new post had loaded. it happened throughout the day yesterday. i'm on a Dell laptop if that makes any difference.

today back to normal as far as i can tell and i've been on GJ off and on since 3am.
