Personally... I buy Hanson.

Pretty much consider Vermont American pretty good, no issues.

Irwin... I have some, seem good... but I have used those comparatively little compared to the other two brands.

For tap wrenches... made in germany

I bought a Hout tap index, just wanted to check before I bought too many Vermont American taps, the price is what had me concerned I am getting them for $2 a piece.
at a flea market. seemed like low price for American Made Taps.

I have a complete older set and am very pleased with them. I bought a single V/A 1/4"x20 tap at the local auto parts the other day. With tax it was $10.
$2 a piece sounds pretty good!
