Hello, I am looking at this product as a temporary solution for my garage floor. I would eventually like to epoxy, or even tile in the future. My question is if this product can be removed/ground away enabling me to epoxy or tile in the future.

Hey Scotty, Quick question. I am cleaning my floor with some diluted Simple Green. The floor has a lot of drywall dust/spackle. Im noticing when I clean it, the floor is much darker than I remembered. Will the Staingard make the color darker? Is there a way I can “lighten” the concrete such as a dye or stain?

Here are some pics. The far side closest to the wall is dry and dirty. The middle is wet, and the closest section is dry and clean. I would like a lighter grayish look. IMG_5903.jpg

You could lighten it up a bit with a "Dye" and cover with the HD40 not really the right product for that but I have seen it done. It's your garage do as you please just seems silly to go to all that trouble cleaning , HD40 and maybe a dye and still not be what you want. With 400 sq that is a pretty easy epoxy or poly job, though it is more money. I just know for myself if I do a "temporary fix" it becomes permanent, do it once do it right.
I used the Hd40 over bare and so far I'm happy with it. Hope it works for you.

Yea, I am looking for a fairly inexpensive temp. soultion, and I agree once its done it is usually permenant! I do however like the marbled look of the machine troweled floor. I have ordered the product already and I will be fine with it a bit darker, just wondering if there was an easy way to lighten it up. Sounds like probably not. Lol

Need to etch before you use DeltaDye Concrete Stain. This makes the floor more porous and then the better product is HD6525MMA. HD40 works best over very smooth concrete.

Thanks, that sounds like more work than I want at this point. Can you epoxy over the etch, dye and seal system if I wanted to change in the future?
