So I’ve had a rust bullet floor for over a year now. It still looks great until the other day I had a sprayer leak out Muriatic Acid on it and discolored a 2’x3’ spot yellowish-green.

How do I fix it?!?!

Could you sand and recoat? I seem to recall you can sand with 120 grit tomopennthe pores and add additional coats.

how long did the acid sit on it? Not for repair purposes, but I plan to do rust bullet and want to know how susceptible it is!

Honestly it could of been up to two months. The bottle was sitting over beside the wheel barrel and I had no clue it happened until we were cleaning up the garage and noticed it.

I was heart broken my gorgeous floor had a blemish. I’ll see if I can find the picture of it in my phone.

Yea, I’m just curious about how to fix it. It’s 3 layers of rust bullet, flake, and then a layer of clear over that.

FYI: You should never store Muratic acid in your shop as it will promote rust on all metal surfaces, even if it is in a closed container.

Neutralize with baking soda/water 1st.

Then sand the area. It may be just the clearcoat.

Funny thing about products like this and our new HellFire Concrete Coating, they are more resistant than the clear coat!!

This is the truth...even in a closed container. I had a can of it stored with other paint cans, etc. couldn't figure out ? why my cans were all rusting! Yep...it was the ,Arabic acid container!

Neutralize. Use a putty knife and try and scrape any loose areas around it. Sand it using 110 grit. Two coats of gray, 1 coat of clear.

Justin PM me the price for the product to redo this area. I bought the kit from you originally when I did the floor about 18 month ago. Thanks! Love my floor. Just had a mishap with some acid lol

Do you think you could learn to love the yellowish-green color? Maybe fill a sprayer with muriatic acid and hit the rest to even it out. :p

I took a angle grinder and ground all the spots that got affected. Here’s what my garage currently looks like, It’s 22’x20’. No way could I of sanded that by hand and got done in any reasonable amount of time!
