Dang I need a few of those as well!

Yeah. They’re not exactly what I needed, and not sure if I’d have gotten them if I did find them at 43¢. I’ll definitely make it work for a penny a piece, though.

If you’re like me, and your “shop” is a shared space, these might help you get organized on the cheap, and increase your tool space a bit.

So I made a visit today and saw these husky boxes on a pallet. It had a sign that said "hold for MET team". What does that mean? No prices to be seen. Are they on the way out of the store? (sorry the picture is rotated) :headscrat

They are waiting for the Merchandising Execution Team to put what ever out. It may not be out out yet because its for a sale starting in a certain date, or product for an encap they have to build.

Tldr, the store employees probably won't jump at opening whatever is bundled up, as if something isn't there, the MET will get grumpy with the store.

Those aren't other deals, they are the exact same, just online. :lol_hitti If you want the ability to return one of the items in the package, I would suggest buying in-store.

Also, if you are trying to use a 10% off Lowes or Vet discount, ask the cashier to take the 10% off the kit or saw, not the whole order, otherwise the package price won't ring up. That way the full price of the 'free' items is still taken off the order.

No need for that. And the barcoded promos won't let them just discount one if the items. The lowes and veterans discounts are both transaction level. The promo for the kit is item level and they will stack.

Those are usually new items that just arrived that the MET team deals with. You will see a lot of that around the holidays.

Looks like it's this box. I'm hoping for a black Friday sale on it that brings the price even lower. I've been searching for a discounted toolbox for a bit now.

Hmm... I've been eyeballing the one with the 18 drawers. I wonder if I would miss the other 5 drawers with one of them being a deep drawer.... Any chance both of them go on sale for BF?

With a 52" wide box I shouldn't miss the extra drawers. I currently have 2 26" craftsman stacks that I've outgrown and I think I could get away with a 36" stack with what I have. the depth of the drawers in my box is my problem.

Home Depot is very secretive with their BF ads, unfortunately. Some of the websites I follow already posted that Depot has sent out pre-emptive cease and desist letters warning them not to share any "leaks" they may come across. I think HD is doing themselves a disservice this way. The earlier it's out the better consumers who are only buying for the low price, like me with this potential box, can plan to shop there. But, it'll be out Thanksgiving day, so unless I come across a copy earlier I'll just finalize my plans then.

Last year as far as boxes they had:

a 46" 9 drawer mobile work center @ $199.99 down from $398.
46" 16 drawer Milwaukee chest and roller for $698 (i think that's the current price)
a 40" dewalt 11 drawer chest and cabinet for $598
41" 16 drawer combo for $498 (Current price)
52" 18 drawer combo for $598, down from $698. (also current price)

I'm not very optimistic about scoring a deal on the big box compared to last years prices, but it's a want, not a need, so I'm ok waiting for the proper deal.

How does the busy 52" box compare to the craftsman of the same level? The sears around me doesn't have any of the craftsmans left for me to compare in person.

This is probably a question to be asked elsewhere on here, but I'll answer you anyway. I apologize to those that dislike short conversations in the deal threads.

In my opinion, Husky is slightly lower grade than a comparable craftsman box, but the price reflects that. I think the husky is priced where it should be and a deal when marked down. I think Craftsman is overpriced for marginally better and I've not seen one marked down to a "deal" level yet, including the scratch and dents and outlet stores.

I have a preference for Craftsman. I'm trying to fix that since the quality's gone down. My dad was a mechanic and craftsman loyalist. When I was a kid I spent my summer vacation in the shop with him turning wrenches. That developed into the two of us restoring cars. When I see the craftsman name it reminds me of great times with my dad, so take my opinion with that slant in mind.

If I don't land a deal before my wife graduates anesthesiology in early 2019 I'll end up with something like this. Only because it reminds me of the box my dad had about 30 years ago.

For me, my toolbox stays in one place and is loaded neatly. I'm a hobbyist that will sometimes go long periods without a project. I don't expect much out of a box, so I think the consumer grade hardware store boxes are fine for me. If you'll be in it daily, moving it around rough floors all the time and know you'll be pushing the load limits of the drawers it probably isn't for you.

I have the 52" 13-drawer chest, as well as the 52" 11-drawer mobile workbench, and love absolutely both of them. They aren't as deep as pro-grade stuff, but for the price point they are amazing.

52" chest is used for tool storage and organization.
52" workbench is used for detailing brushes/pads/organization.

Picked up a set of these locking pliers today. They seem to be about the same quality level as the irwin brand vise grips. Marked down 50% to $9.97 for the 6.5", 7", and 10" set.

I was also looking at these Milwaukee parts organizer cases and they look fairly rugged. Not really a hot deal but a little discount at $5 off regular $24.97. The cases have some useful features like removable bins, water sealed, and stackable, etc.

"Engine": Yeah, I like those organizers. I bought 3 or 4 when they were $20/each. They are pretty rugged for being plastic.
Myself & a few coworkers have em full of screws, nails, and such.
Stack good and they latch together specifically, which is cool.
Kaizen foam or someone sell foam kits for these to cut for drills or something.

The Milwaukee parts/screw organizers are hella sturdy. Don't throw them out the second story window, but they should stand up to a lot of jobsite abuse. Friend has several and they have held up really well for a few years now.

Anyone had any success with the Werner multi-position ladders? At least two HDs I have visited had them all banded up and on a pallet on the top shelf.

Those will be coming down for the holiday season and/or BF. Then the markdowns will start after Xmas.

I've often thought we need to map when they tend to be marked down 'cause there's a few products like this that come along every BF and are cleared out every Jan. But I mean it'd be nice to know the exact dates in past years they've hit .03, etc. I got a couple for $30.03 last year

Of course I say "we" and I probably mean someone else.....sometimes I get a bug and do stuff like this but I'm damn busy ATM

Yeah, I love mine. Works great!

Thanks for the response. Anyone else had to ask a HD associate to get them down out of the rafters or anything? I am not sure the pricing has changed yet in my area. Would prefer not to have them pull it down just to check pricing.

They have already been marked down substantially in many areas - like $50 for the 22-footer.

Definitely need to check pricing first. It looks like they are going to the Gorilla brand for this style of ladder. One store by me has the 13', 22', and 26' on clearance, but all the other stores only have the 22' on clearance. I just had them pull a pallet down that had 2 on it.

Did you check the pricing on a computer at the store before you had them pull them down?

Yes, only the 22' one was on clearance at this store. The one that showed all 3 sizes at .03 pricing did not have any stock. Another store shows 8 of the 26' ones but at regular price.
