In the electrical section they are clearing out USA made Ideal & Greenlee (and also some China Greenlee) to replace with China Southwire. Almost all of it is hole drilling related. Got some USA ship augers for half price so far.

In a semi related note HD has also moved the 1" Klein ship augers to the pile of non-discounted but displaced stuff. Maybe those will start to drop too.

The promotional video says they're German made. I just ordered a pair for $10 plus shipping. We'll see how good they are.

I've read mixed things saying just keep trying different times of the day at a couple of the stores that have the item you want.

Some say that a store isn't supposed to ship clearance items.

Basically it just boils down to dumb luck...

I got lucky and my store had a 1-1/4" auger which Lowes doesn't even sell - they sold it to me for the same price as the 1". Also picked up 1", 7/8" and 3/4".

They had some short auger bits at mine for 50% off. Great for stud bay work. I also got the long flexible bit shaft. The link is to a bit I got for 50% off today, btu website doesn't reflect. Also had 3/" & 7/8", but I figured 1" would cover them all (for me)

All the greenlee stuff was put on clearance over a year ago at most stores. None of the lowes near me have anything greenlee, you must have gotten lucky.

Also, Ideal carbide hole saws and flex drill bits are being clearanced out to be replaced with Southwire. Just picked up a couple 7/8" carbide hole saws for 50% off tonight.

Here in TN. we have had Southwire for over a year. Good tools. They are in the Elec. Dept. geared more for the contractor. Sorry but there are over 253,000 Lowes employees, I try not to disrespect.

Brand new Delta cruzer miter saws are down to 349$,399$ (10",12" respectively) and come with free delta stand (decent quality). I played with the saws in person, very impressed at that price.
These are "new lower price " so no telling when/if it will go back up.

fyi.. we took a trip to Minneapolis this summer when the dremel kits were real cheap. Plymouth Lowes had a TON of stuff on the deal thread here in stock at that store, unfortunately we didn't have the time to make the trip there. so if you're in the minneapolis area, and you find a deal on here, check the plymouth location, seems they usually have the deals in stock
