Well I received the ratchet I ordered that was referenced to in this thread post #17 https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=375147. When I opened the package I could not believe how cute this thing is, the 3/8" drive just looks silly on the small ratchet head. I used it Thursday and Friday at work and love the form factor. We deal with a ton of socket head screws and these things are great for driving bit drivers. I also have the Proto version which I like but the smaller head and finer teeth of the SK are just that much better. I liked it so much yesterday I received the SK 40970 1/4" drive ratchet. I believe this will be my go to 1/4 drive ratchet from now on.

It is a neat little ratchet. That's why I bought a second one from that amazon seller. I should probably put a thread in 'hot deals'.

Most of my sockets are 3/8 so I really like the idea of a 3/8 in the same size as a 1/4. The second one will be for around the house while the first lives in my car trunk. If I get more 1/4 sockets down the road I'll probably buy the 1/4 drive socket of theirs. SK make good stuff at reasonable prices.

i have had one for years as well as the long and flex versions. probably the best compact 3/8 ratchets out there.

that is a smoking deal and everyone should have one for that price. as said, awesome with bit sockets.

Mine arrived this week also. I wonder how many sales the seller received from that thread?

Anyway, I love the little guy. I'm planning on ordering its 6.5" brother next week from Circle C Supply. In the last few weeks, I also received the long handle 3/8" and long handled 1/4" ratchet (I already have The long 1/2" ratchet). The 1/4" is amazingly smooth with almost no backdrag. If anyone is looking for a smooth 1/4", give SK a try.

As soon as I see the 3/8" long with the dual pawl head I will have one on order.

I cheated, I just bought the replacement kit and stuck it in a 1/4dr body for a fraction of the cost. :D
