We are familiar with Stonhard. They are a division of Rustoleum that caters to large commercial and industrial and pharmaceutical companies. They sell via direct sales force and hire independent installers. They are know for very good quality and super high pricing. You would need to contact them for a price, but to our knowledge they don't do residential work if this is the nature of your project. Our www.prep-crete.com Install Division competes with them daily in the NYC metro area and often get our materials approved instead of theirs.
There is nothing that Stonhard makes that we don't offer a 'for equal' with, but you would need to tell us which version you are interested in as the Stonclad comes in different versions (GR, GS, etc).
Best to contact us directly once you determine the system you want.

I am an architect looking for a finish to apply to a welding lab at a community college project. I was interested in doing a polished floor as I have not encountered anything that would withstand welding slag. There is not a contractor in the area that has a decent reputation, so the owner's rep wants to install an epoxy floor. Another architect in the firm recommended Stonhard. I am not sold as of yet, but they insist that their product will hold up.
So, I am back to square one on prescribing a finish.

Where is this project located?
Best check with Stonhard but to our knowledge all resinous floors will burn or get damaged from welding slag.
What about Ghostshield? It penetrates and can handle welding no problem.

Unfinished, finished concrete does not matter. the problem with hot slag is the temperature delta.
You need a metal overlayment of some sort.
Perhaps just where the actual welding will occur not the whole room.

One of our family members had a steel fabrication and construction business for many years. The concrete floor where the welding tables were located was burned and slightly pitted from years of use. A floor coating will not stand up to welding and a polished floor will loose it's luster quickly. Machine troweled concrete with a good densifier and sealer combination would be your best bet.
