No but that looks like another one of John L Longs vises. Thanks Get, I added the patent photo of the Versa Vise type.
So where does Will Burt get involved, manufacturing under licence?

The answer is yes, John R Long was the inventor and Will Burt the builder. Thanks for sharing your pic's.

This link should explain it

excellent infoI'm not blessed with the knowledge that you and some of the other vise guru's have so it's great to catch snippets on this forum.
If you need more pics shout up.
OK, which one of you guys snagged this 7 inch (according to the seller) swivel jaw Prentiss for $75?
Even if it had 5 inch jaws and opened to 7 inches, it is still a bargain.
( Porterville CA Craigslist )

Shift
Based on the width of slat of the pallet under the vise, 7" jaws seems dubious, I would want to suggest may be it is even 4" but at $75 (assuming there is no damage) that is still pretty good deal.

MrDane,
Those are some cool finds ! What shade of green is the 404 wearing ? It looks like Valspar leaf green to me.

Shawn

Thanks Shawn, always got an eye out for old iron. I'm pretty sure it was gloss Sage Green, rustoleum. Considered a hammered copper but the green suits it I think.MrDane,

Check out this huge vice I saw on the weekend. It’s at “The Guild” in Bradford, Ontario. The Guild is a automotive restoration shop that has a show calledRestoration Garage on The History Channel in Canada.
Can this truly be a Bugatti vice? Value?

I agree with Allfast
Major league score on that Wilton tradesman for only $20.
And a nice job on the repaint.
Is it leaf green?
....now on to my latest project......60's era Wilton 600, Craigslist ad, $400....was able to pick it up for $250. Sold some useless odds and ends around the garage so it actually ended up much cheaper in a way
, removed since) but the body has no cracks or brazing, and has a straight handle. In my garage it will do just fine
