Anyone else love using these things as much as I do? My father in law got me hooked on these things about 7 or 8 years ago because I could never find the bits that come in snap on ratcheting screwdrivers. They are almost rounded at the end.
I got another 20 pack to last me another few years. These buggers are about a buck a piece. They are the 446- 2X.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Question, is there a good set that APEX puts together to buy?

I have an older blue point or snap on set that is getting pretty thin due to wear and loss, and seems pretty highly priced to replace, but I do need to upgrade.

I put together my own set with a couple of Mechanics Time Saver racks with the magnetic base. More fun that way.

I looked at a bit set from HD but realized I wouldn’t use 95% of the bits. I have the torx bit for deck mate screws, the aggrevating square drive that shows up randomly, and then Phillips. So I just decided to stop getting frustrated when I needed a Phillips bit

I love the Apex bits too but don't have a good supplier. Any suggestions?

Also, I'm a little weird but I would rather use Robertson square drive deck screws even above Torx. The Canadians are on to something there !

You're not weird in liking the square drive screws, you're smart. I too prefer using square drive wood screws (I get them from McFeelys).

Apex (and Zephyr bits) bits can be gotten here: https://mrotools.com/

I seem to like the Zephyr bit more, I think they last longer.

I like the longer 3” or so bits that can go into a 1/4” adapter onto my 12v screw gun. Didnt know about MRO tools. I like the Zephyr ACR Phillips bit. I may have to try those.

I ordered from Amazon.

I have read that Zephyr makes the bits for snap-on. They also make them for Brownells gunsmithing sets. Zephyr bits have a "Z" inside of a circle stamped on the side.
Brownells used to have their bits supplied by Apex. I am not sure why they changed, but both Apex and Zephyr are great bits.
Wera, Wiha, and Felo bits are great too, possibly even a bit better.

Damn- You are going to have me doing a side by side shoot out of Phillips bits if you keep that up!

Thanks for the info. I never could find the O.E. for Snap on.

I may have to try this. It’s a Harpoon...

I use Apex and Zephyr.
The Apex bits I pick up on the scrounge from pawn shops and military surplus sellers on eBay . Zephyr bits I purchase from mro , I have a couple of the ZBB4 kits in the red metal box and they cover the basics pretty well and have been better than I expected quality wise.
There is an eBay seller selling some Zephyr bits in a pocket screwdriver for a reasonable price.
