Dual bulb fixture issue

Hi all;
I've got a standard 2-bulb overhead light. Both bulbs go on when the fixture is turned on, but after about 3-4 minutes one of the bulbs flickers then goes out. Been doing this for a couple of months. I've swapped out the bulbs on several occasions, currently running two LEDs. Could it really be just the socket if it goes on then off?

Muchos gracias.

That happened to a '50s vintage 2 bulb bullet style spun aluminum outdoor fixture when I ran LED floodlights.
After I changed back to incandescent spot bulbs, the problem went away. That fixture is rarely used so I don't have much motivation to rewire the whole thing.

"Standard"??? No such thing.

Okay, common, two receptacle E26, opposing sockets, same socket fails, like this:

Ah, I was thinking dual fluorescent.

Check the sockets, make sure the contacts are extended enough to make good contact. Is it the same socket that fails with all the bulbs?
