I would give it a few days to get out the door. Does anyone know if the Armstrong wrenches are thinner than the SK versions? By the timeline it seems my wrenches may be Armstrong but without any markings it's hard to be sure.

I have full SAE and Metric sets of the both the Original "K" marked SK wrenches and the newer Armstrong versions (marked "industrial"). The Armstrongs are the better ones to have IMO.

I remember breaking one of the SK's (Back when they were still available in the stores) with just 2 fingers applying pressure. Got it replaced and haven't had that happen since but I haven't used them since either. They also seemed to rust fairly easily for a full chrome wrench. Either way, it left me with a bad impression of them.

Didn't Matco at the time sell the same manufactured wrench with just their logo on it? It seems like I remember that being established.

Not sure if this is what you are refering to but Matco's reversible ratcheting wrench's (https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/S7GRRCM12/12-PIECE-72-TOOTH-METRIC-REVERSIBLE-COMBINATION-RATCHETING-WRENCH-SET/) are rebranded Armstrongs. I have a set of those as well and like them very much.

Maybe some (all?) of their other wrenches are rebranded Armstrong's too? IDK but I do know they set I linked to above are.

Do you guys think the bottom ratcheting wrench here is made by Armstrong?

I won't say for sure but if I had to guess I'd say no because my MATCO/Armstrong ratcheting wrenches have a different direction lever. The chrome looks a little different too.

USA. The wrenches are very nice. The contour is very similar to the Craftsman Pro wrenches I started this thread about. To answer my original question, I think my C-Man Pro wrenches were made by Armstrong.

Thanks, I heard they sold out, but if I get mine in the 12th, I may check and see if they got anymore.

I have a few Armstrong tools and like them. I don't see them much in stores around here. I have a 1/2" drive ratchet that been great.

I waiting on my set to arrive. I think it said ETA 12/12.

are they made in USA or China? I've heard good things about them.

thanks

Mine are supposed to arrive tomorrow. With the way UPS has been acting lately, I hope to see them by April.

Wish I had ordered two sets if they're that nice!

In answer to my own question, it appears these recent full polish Craftsman Industrial ratcheting wrenches were made by Danaher circa 2010-2011. The are marked with "KZ."

The raised panel Craftsman Industrial ratcheting wrenches are marke "V^" so they are made by Danaher's Armstrong Division (probably about the same time).

The one on the bottom appears to have the same direction lever as the USA Armstrong’s but I remember my Armstrong’s being longer.

Thanks GJ for the tip.

Mine arrived today too. They're very nice wrenches. Nicely broached and the chrome is mirror finish. I definitely should have bought 2 sets. ~$60 shipped was a literal steal for these.

There was a sheet of paper in the box, with the handwritten date of October 2014, thanking me for buying a Craftsman Wrench set.

I was literally shopping for a large USA wrench set, and each wrench that size was about the same as I paid for the whole set of 10! Thanks again, GJ!

Mine came today.

For 80 bucks, you get a quality US made wrench set for the price of HF. One of the best deals I have ever gotten for anything on a factory new product.

These have enough similarities to my Armstrong metric set that I would say they are the same.
