When it is a promotion in store where you get to select another tool, the amount of the freebie, or whatever dollar amount if it is a set amount, is taken off proportionally each item. You can then return either item, and the savings still sticks to the other item.
This same principle can be applied to BestBuy as well. I bought an nVidia Shield media player with a bundled antenna for $20 more than the cost of the player. The player was $200 on its own, but after applying the bundle savings to each item, the player dropped closer to $160. No other sale came close to the savings. This was an item that rarely had a sale, and still is pretty tight on price. Most places that do this, one of the items can usually be returned (not all, but most)
Your jumping ahead of yourself. I never came close to eluding to that. I prefer another brand because of the quality to cost ratio, mainly because of the availability of deals on the tools, as well as the wide selection of 12 & 18v tools. I actually like Makita, but I'd say there's a price premium to them for comparable tools. The only dedicated tool brand deal thread here is for Milwaukee, if that says anything deal wise. In a perfect world, we would be all hoping for Festool deals
I think their tools take more of a beating that others, but I'm not tossing my tools around like some, so not worried there. They also are the only ones with a significant 2x 18v battery options which I like. Wish others would copy that.
