I’m happier than a pig rolling in poop right about now.
My father bought me this tool chest at an auction in the 80’s. The price was 50 bucks. It was loaded with old rusty vintage tools. The box was rusty red. Dad informed me he took money out of my savings to pay for it.
I still have those tools today. No idea how old this Mac box is, but I’d venture it was 20 years old when I got it as a teenager.
I sand blasted it and painted it in POR 15 Black (roll on). Loaded it up with stickers as all hot rod teenagers do. I traded it in on my first snap on roll cab somewhere around 1997-98.
Fast forward to tonight. I called a guy that had a snap on box listed. Turns out he’s a snap on dealer who works for the guy I traded it in to.
Other than a dinged corner on the door and an inch of dust. It’s exactly how it was when I had it. Paint it still shiny as all get out. Not to shabby for 25+ year old roll on paint. Still has the rubber mats in the drawers and still had a Marlboro Mile in the top.
I guess I’ll redo it prim and proper this time around. Besides it’ll have to match the new roll cab I bought. Anyone know how old this thing is or where I can find the model number or date?
