Just wanted to let everyone know about this camera and what a great deal it is. I picked one up on a Cyber Monday Deal and have had it hooked up for a week with no problems. https://www.wyzecam.com/

Pros:

1080P recordings

24 Hour recordings even when Wifi is down or not existent. (Requires a Micro SD)

Fast Connections for real time viewing.

PRICE PRICE PRICE!

Free 14 days of storage in the cloud

Cons:

Alert recordings are only 15 seconds and doesn't seem to keep going when there is still movement. So a Micro SD is required and not provided.

Getting recordings off the Micro SD to the phone is not possible. Must use a computer and each recording is 1 minute long. Not a big deal as a 32 gb is about 5 days of continuous recordings.

Not outdoor rated...

Just figured I would pass along my experience. Just ordered another 2 from them. :De07b924970b749d6adfd218f57cc315c.jpg

Wow that's pretty cool. It looks like it'd be a handy little camera to have just in general not even as a security cam. Do you know what framerate it records the 1080 at? 24 or 30fps? Also I wonder how long it would last off a 10000mAh battery pack. There's no power on the far wall of my garage where I'd want to mount it to monitor things.

Nice little camera for that kind of money. I've got the Arlo Pro 4 camera setup and really like it. I wanted completely wireless, but they also offer a normal 110 plug in setup now as well and you can record full time if you want.

It looks interesting, especially for the $$

Here is a pretty decent review - it looks like if you don't have an SD card in the camera, your only going to get a 12 second video clip saved to the cloud and then it takes a couple of minutes before it will record the 12 seconds again (the review calls it a 'cool down' period)

I don't see this mentioned in the review but does it continue to record over previous recordings once the SD card is full?

These guys aren't making money from selling cameras, or cloud storage/video access. Where are they making the money?

Neat, ordered two.
With USB-power only required, I'll try to add one into each daily driver

Can it be used as a webcam? Does it send data over USB, or cloud / local storage only?

I got to agree probably not really good for the car. Heat during the summer will kill even the best dash cams.

I received the same message but 3 days later I had tracking information. Hopefully you get the same.

Thanks Op, interesting.

Saw this in the FAQ's, The WyzeCam’s frame rate is 10 fps for both HD and SD video modes. This does not excite me.

Yep seen that too. I was kinda disappointed in the number but to be honest I can’t see the difference between the Wyze and the Arlo Pro. The old Arlo Pro was 720p so maybe that had/has something to do with it. I ended up returning the Arlo just because it was never recording anything that was moving in front of it and the delay was so long. I will try and up load a sample video just so everyone can make there own decisions.

You are the product. They are essentially spying on you and somehow plan to turn this into valuable data to sell to marketers. Or perhaps the government.

Thanks for posting, better that I expected.

Have you shot anything in SD? I like the feature of just letting it record, like if you were going to be gone for a couple weeks. Using HD the card would fill up too fast.
