Crowfoot wrench brands

I finally ran into a situation where a crowfoot wrench would have made life MUCH simpler......a power steering line flare fitting buried in an inaccessible area.

I'm looking to buy a set now and wonder if the Craftsman ones are good enough for occasional (diy) use. It seems that Snap On is THE go-to brand for flare wrenches.

For what they are used for, are the Craftsman o.k.? They seem to have a good finish on them, but I don't know about the fit, metal quality, etc..

Any advice is appreciated.

Snapon..........., They have more sizes....
I have the craftsmans flare nut wrench, they rounded off a line....., upgrade to snap on, took of the rounded off nut....

Don't take this as a known fact, but from my research I've come to believe that most of the high end crowsfeet, in both open end and flare nut look a lot like Granco's. My Snap-on's look just like Granco's. Proto's, based on their crappy photo's on the website, look like Granco's, and Wrights also look the same to me(I'm talking 12 point flare nut for the Wright's). The regular open end Wrights look a little different than other brands, so I assume they make them?

My experience with the Craftsman is zero. All of my open end crowsfeet are Snappy. A coworker has the Craftsmans and he's not impressed. He also didn't pay nearly as much as I did so maybe it's a case of you get what you pay for?

I've never heard anyone bad mouth the Proto's. They might be a little cheaper than the Snap-on's too. The Wright open ends seem a little more bulky than other brands to me.

I have Cornwell and Mac, I like the Cornwell's a little better but I'm happy with both. I have a few Snap On's, don't seem any better or any worse. But I would stay away from the Craftsman unless you can find an old set in good shape.

i have craftsman, napa, astro, and few s k in 3/8 drive. Matco and sunex in 1/2 drive. Have all done the job without slipping.

Newb question, but Ive always wondered... What is the real benefit/purpose of crows feet wrenches?

Anytime you see a bolt or fitting and wonder how would you ever get to that? Its most likely done with a crowsfoot and various length extentions and ratchets

Thank you, all. I forgot about Proto.....this is for my workplace and I can get a good discount on them.

In the top picture by Mickey O, are those two outside ones both considered to be flare nut wrenches?

And...the "v" in the open end......is that better than a "square" opening there?

Proto has two open end designs. Is one better? The bottom advertised as anti slip.
